Sometimes you have to do more than you think necessary to knock a "media darling" off it's pedestal!

We always respond when "called out" and/or underestimated.

Meh. I'm sure some history plays into it, but they do return 9 on O & most importantly their QB won't be a Freshmen any more.
What I do find interesting is how WSU drops out of the 25 simply due to the signing classes signed, and BSU didn't really add anyone in their class who'd give them a boost over what WSU added?

It doesn't really matter.
Having said that we will make a FSU run through non-league and conference next year. We are going to smack people around.

Boise has the reputation that we don't. And while i feel really good about our guys, there are a ton of questions at key spots. Mainly the QB and OL spots. I have confidence in Chapman, but performing in two games vs an entire body of work in a full season is very different. But mostly, our OL lost two absolute BEASTS. We all saw how our offensive production drastically changed when one key guy on the OL came back from suspension.
Like i said, i feel confident, but to the national media, our guys will have to prove it again. To be the man, you got to BEAT the man! Hope we get a Championship game vs Boise here in San Diego next season! THAT could go a long ways.

As of now, I am feeling pretty good. Now, I could be wrong and CC could play like "I couldn't have done it without myself" after he finished off the prior year well and then played terribly the next year. Also, we didn't have Greene for the Hawaii Bowl and still owned the line of scrimmage. Again, still things to watch, but I feel pretty good.

You actually answered your own beef with the third line of your post, ..."BSU has done what we have not...beat the P5 on a consistent basis and on a big stage." That is it SuperAztec. Until we start beating P5 teams on a consistent basis all our other accomplishments will be negated. It doesn't matter to the pollsters that we won 10 straight games when our competition was not considered tough. They are impressed by victories over P5 teams especially road games. Yes, we were undefeated in the MW, and we did blast Cincy out of the Hawaii Bowl, but until we play a P5 team, and beat them fairly convincingly, or win several games in a row over good P5 teams the only respect or attention we will get is lip service. No amount of crying, complaining, or bit--ing, will make any difference. As the song goes, "That's Just The way It Is!"

Rypien. They have a QB who threw for 3,500 yards and a running back who ran for 1,300 yards. They are a sensible pick for first. Whether they end up there, who knows? They were picked to finish first last year and that didn't work out.

I kind of like it. I hope our guys have a chip on their shoulders to prove everyone wrong.
The groundwork was been laid was well as it can be to this point. The question is, do we have a program here or not? The next few seasons will determine if we do, but right now, the 2015-2016 Aztecs had better make their mark early and often to prove we didn't get a lucky year in a down conference. Challenge extended. #GoAztecs

Beat some P5 teams, don't lose to DII schools, and regularly beat teams with winning records, and then they will notice. It's going to take more than one winning season to shake the stink off of us...

I would much rather have all of our team play with a "we have something to prove" or an "its us against the world" attribute that to start thinking they are good b/c some jack hole puts them in a "way too early Top 25 list" Just venting. Like the song says, "that's just the way it is, some things will never change" - I am counting on the FB Team and the administration thinking otherwise. T

BSU or WSU? I'm sure some rankings guru took a coin & said: "heads=BSU, tails=WSU". He flipped the coin & lo and behold it came up heads and WSU was out!
