it could not have hurt and yes everything helps,to at least bring out the coach , captains ,or even team to a standing ovation . By the way there were hundreds of empty seats . Missed opportunity ! How do you know it's a missed opportunity? It's YOUR opinion it would have made an impact, not fact. I disagree. I'm sure there are varying opinions. If Rocky thought it would make a difference he could have suggested it, but he didn't. They know what's in the best interest of recruiting, not you. They had all the tickets they could have possibly needed for the game. If some didn't show that probably means they found something more useful to them/their parents. PS. They do intend to recognize the team at some point this year, but haven't determined which date would work best for all involved.

So are you actually saying that having a congratulations to the football at half time of the MBB game in front of 10 ,000 cheering fans , with recruits and families there is not in any way helpful when recruiting these guys ?

Last I checked the conference championship in football was won on the field in front of 20k+ cheering fans, and the trophy is sitting in Fowler for all the recruits to see. It's not won on a basketball court. I don't know the psyche of every recruit, but my guess is the coaching staff, most of whom have been recruiting kids successfully for years, do have a good idea. For all we know the recruits may hate basketball and/or prefer to spend time with their hosts and the staff. I personally think you're selling the recruits short. They know the team was successful. They know the team will be defending the title. I find it a little silly to think they'd be swayed to go to a school by a brief congrats at a basketball game. I give them more credit than that. My bet is the school, the coaching staff and their future teammates would be the reason. As noted, we will be celebrating the football championship at some point in time when all involved, including the football coaches, determine it's the right situation. Not necessarily when you believe the timing is right.

Think QB Lucas Johnson wanted to visit us last so he can make up his mind once or all after visiting Georgia Tech last week. Go Aztecs! Lucas Johnson was recruited by Georgia Tech and Air Force. I guess when they list him as a dual-threat QB, they mean it.

Now the focus is on the recruits, not the current team.
