If Allen is coming off the bench, is the guy playing ahead of him also worth a look?

I just watched Leonard Allen Jr. and San Diego City defeat Miramar in a close and exciting game. If there was any doubts about our interest in Allen, coach Hutson was sitting a few rows behind me. Allen Has a soft touch, good footwork, and hands. He needs to get stronger and more explosive but you can't teach 7 feet. He is fairly athletic for a guy his height. He already has a nice mid range shot. With a lot of hard work he has excellent upside. I would offer him a scholarship, I believe he can help us in the future.

I'm really hoping to see Leonard Allen Jr. in an Aztecs jersey next season...

any thoughts on his D and rebounding , two needs for the 2016 team ! Would he be able to play on the Aztec 2016-17 team ? Could be a compliment to Nolan Narain , at the 5 position .

Based on what I saw last night, he has good hands so he can catch passes excellent technique and touch. Also good footwork and quickness for a 7 foot player. If he hits the weights hard and continues to work, he can compliment next year for sure. On one play he came from behind a smaller quicker player on a break away and blocked his shot at the rim. If we can get this guy, I would. Haven't seen the 3 red shirts so can't comment on how he compares to them. Will say that he's ahead of our current 5's in terms of shooting, free throws, post moves, basic offensive skills. Lots to work with.

our three red shirts Nolan Narain 6'9" 220 lbs. is a PF/C . Very intelligent smooth player would be our best shooting center we have had in a long time . He played PF in HS , is learning the 5 position this year from Skylar , Angelo and Winston.
Max is a 6'8" SF/PF noted for his 3 point spot shooting on the wing.
MG-C 6'6" is a very good SF/SG that can create his own shot off the dribble .
HS Recruit J. McDaniels is 6'9 " but only about 185 lbs. ( about same weight as Dakari but 4 inches taller ). Believe he prefers to play PF .
So with Skylar , Angelo and Winston graduating there will be a definite need and PT at the 5 position

Going to be very interesting to see what changes if any happen to current roster in offseason. Pope return? Allen? Williams? Lots of depth at the G/F positions...and lots of players to find minutes for. One more big as depth would definitely be nice, but I think think Zylan and Narain can definitely handle majority of the duties. G Hemsley G Kell G Pope F Cheatham F Narain F Allen F Shrigley G MGC F Hoetzel G Williams G Perez F McDaniels

From everything I've heard and some of which has been said on this board, MGC may end up being one of the best players on the court for us next year. If Malik doesn't step up his offensive and defensive games, I can easily see MGC starting at the SF position.

although hard to measure against other local JC's last game 2/3 20 points, 14 rebs, 2 assists, 8 blocks , 2 TO's . Definitely worth checking out .
schedule for those who may want to see him play 2/10 and 2/12 Home games . 2/17 at IMP Valley . 2/19 at SW
