I heard him being interviewed a couple months ago. Sounds like he really wants to be an Aztec and play in his hometown. I really hope he sticks with his commitment.

He scheduled a visit to G-Tech. Anytime you take or even schedule a visit you're changed to a soft verbal.

A familiar story.....we have been here many times before....usually with bad results.

So we have probably the best year in Aztec history and our program is rolling, you're a local kid QB and you'd rather play in Georgia? No brainer Aztec football and being close to family and friends and think about after football living in San Diego or Georgia. SDSU is future is shinning.

No shot at becoming an NFL QB at Georgia Tech

Would be foolish not to at least take a trip there - they are a P5 school in the South East that love their football . Not sure how their fans compare to Georgia "s ?
we will then see if he is true to his Local San Diego team or feels the lure of P5 .

Not saying he's for sure sticking with SDSU, but if I'm a nationally recruited prospect, you bet your arse I'm heading to diff parts of the continent for my 5(?) allowed official visits. I'd for sure be leading Hawaii on.

On the Football Life episode which featured Marshall Faulk, Marshall stated he wanted to move far enough away from his home where "failure was not an option". Every kid is different, some want the away from home college experience.

Really enjoyed the TV show about Marshall , how fortunate we were to sign him . biggest reason, we were the only school to offer him an opportunity to play RB , others wanted him to play DB . If Miami had done so he was going there .
do hope we can hang on to our recruits or add some during the next month . Any word about what Max Smith is doing ? JR ?

How'd that work out? Rather play and have family see me than sit hold a clip board. I guess if coaching is your future. Coach Rocky Long has the best program going in MWC which is better than not winning in a P5.

Georgia Tech is just a year removed from winning 11 games, there division in ACC and the Orange Bowl, they are not some bottom feeder P-5 school that had a usual 3 win season. Past year was terrible for them, but they had a ton of injuries, were unfortunate in a lot of close games, and Lucas Johnson skill set fits the GT offense to a tee. I don't know much about the GT depth chart but he won't be playing early at SDSU, he will be behind Chapman/Smith till both leave. This kid looks good to me but I'm not sure he fits our offense great anyways.

GT runs the Option. I am not sure he wants to do that.

Based on his senior-year (as well as HS career) stats listed in the updated first post in this thread... 177/305 passing for 2,571 yards and 26 TDs and 4 INTs. He also rushed 105 times for 1,166 yards and 14 TDs...he appears to have every possibility of being a terrific QB for the Aztecs.
