If you look at the links, one estimated him at a 4.6 forty time. You can check out his highlights and judge for yourself too. If you want, you can post up more links for him to see if there is a forty time out there for him.
Just a thought.

I watched the highlights. EVERY pass he caught was a 5 to 10 yard down and out. No deep passes, no passes over the middle, etc. I am skeptical of this recruit.

Interesting: he played in a run-first offense and with his size/production kept the chains moving. Sounds like a good fit.

Yeah, looks like he barely gets any reception. His jr year has him at around 500 yards, and he only had like 200 yards his senior year. Scheme and QB skill obviously play huge roles in his season production. He did participate in some 7 on 7 tournaments, so hopefully that's what our coaches are basing their decisions on. Muscle and weight will be added on once he gets on the meal plan and actually spends time in the weight room.
Every single one of our WR recruits are tall and lanky. Not a bad thing at all, but we need some blazers to provide fits for defensive backs IMO. Time will tell how they turn out, but with continuity at the QB position (Chapman) I'm optimistic!

What good are faster deep threat WR's if your QB can only throw the immediate ball?

I'll take quick, strong routes/cuts, and good hands over "speed / fast" every day of the week.

Blocking by the wide receivers has been an emphasis item this year. Looks like it will continue to be an emphasis.

He knows how to run a 5-yard hook pattern.

Judging by the posts of people here who watched one single highlight video, Rocky and staff have no idea what they're doing. Someone better show them what's what or they'll never win a conf championship!

Until we start to have an offense that lets the QB throw the ball about 20 times a game , why would a stud WR want to come to SDSU . We started to in the AFA game . Do we continue to have a balanced attack so we can attract WR's or is it more important to get FB's . As noted more then any other skill a WR needs to have is to hang unto the ball after running a decent route. Short passes can be turned into long gains . Running the wrong route , and not catching the ball give you Zero yards . If he can run the route called for and catch the ball is step number 1 .

We can do all of that.....remember when Linley had Sampson, Brown, Hillman and Trevor......that is called balance and deadly.

A big WR who can block downfield, that's what Rocky's getting with this kid.
A possession receiver, not a burner. A big target with good hands, physical, who will move the chains.
Watching his highlights, I see a lot of throws to the flats, quick hitches, getting first downs. He's basically a mismatch to most DB's when we're in need of short yards. A nice pickup for the offense.

Seems the major complaints last year . Our WR's did not run good routes . Had trouble hanging on to the ball and did not fight for the 50/50 balls . If a WR can catch a ball in the flat or even 5 yards down the field there is the opportunity to turn it into a decent gain . Vincent Brown . A burner that runs the wrong route or gets open but drops it does not help the offense .
