We need a better offense. How many missed shots are we going let us lose our game for? We had opportunities that we missed and it helped WV. Sure they're D really made the biggest difference, but we still had some opportunities.
We need to set screens for Pope, Kell and Dakarai for the three pt shot. We also need hemsley, zylan and shepherd taking it in more and at least trying to draw the foul. We also need pope playing like durant in the mid range game. He had one look last game where he turned around and made a mid range shot over the player. We need more of that. Let pope loose, encourage him to score and be aggressive.

we didn't make one jump shot the entire game I think it was only 11 buckets all layups and free throws we made tonight. I think its in the gym for an all day shooting drill and work on the offense. this team is in deep deep trouble. worst offense Ive seen since the brandenburg era.

All the guys on our team are talented.
Talent is not the issue.
Most if not all have spent 100s of hours shooting the ball.
Practice is not the issue.
The stress of playing at this level against top completion is the issue.
It's about mental and emotional strength. It's a bandwidth issue.
The team as a whole is not their yet.

The stress of playing at this level against top completion is the issue. It's about mental and emotional strength. It's a bandwidth issue. The team as a whole is not their yet. Did you just basically just call OUR team a bunch of mentally and emotionally soft p*****s? Really? Maybe I misunderstood? Or interpreted wrong? |

But Sky had 7 blocks! Maybe back to defense first? ?? Sky looked great the other night against back up Kameron Rooks. Both Chol and Brown eliminated each other with foul trouble. His numbers looked great against a back up scrub. When he meets another starter he tend to shy away from competition offensively. Next games starters: PG: Hemsley G: Kell SF; Shepard PF. they lost their cool, and confidence, it happens to young players. ZC kept charging but missed a few point blank layups. I've seen this before. Let's face it we we stunk but we tried not to... shots didn't go down we were rushing those shots. But is ONE game ...get over it. On to Long Beach, improve. The season is far from over. So we might not go to the NCAA this year, .... believe me I'm not turning in the 6 season tickets I have, NOPE
Some years are better than others, I'm sorry if your ultra ego got bruised ... buck up and return to the stands. !!!

A couple of things. West Virginia used the philosophy of fouling on every play so eventually the refs stop calling the fouls. They only way you can get a foul call is by driving to the basket. I hate this technique and this is why the NCAA is having the refs call fouls so close at the start of the season. They don't want basketball to deteriorate into this garbage. Unfortunately, the players don't adjust to the new officiating, it disrupts the flow of the game, the fans get upset and refs go back to not calling any fouls. So this is a tough matchup for SDSU since WVU plays "great" defense and their offense is struggling.
I thought I read somewhere that SDSU uses 2/3's of their practice time on defense. Not sure if that is true or not, but if true, then Fisher may want to rethink that one. John Wooden once said that the toughest thing to coach in basketball is offense so he spent 2/3's of his time coaching offense. Now remember, UCLA was famous for it's full court pressure defense under Wooden so they had some great defense on his teams, but he still spent 2/3's of his time on offense.

We are going to the NCAA's this season and will go deep into March Madness. The team has a lot of question marks which will be successfully addressed. We have the talent and coaching. We just have to and will learn to be ready no matter what is thrown at us by March. |
