The final verdict on ObamaCare has not yet been rendered. This news item clearly is a warning sign as far as the ACA is concerned. I guess the ACA sounded really great to the people who wrote the 2000 plus pages of rules and regulations. Now reality is forcing a gut-check on the system. Another example of why pols should not try to design a system rather than allowing the free market to work. “If they (i.e, United Healthcare) can’t make money on the exchanges, it seems it would be hard for anyone,” said Katherine Hempstead, who heads the insurance coverage team at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.www.usatoday.com/story/money/2015/11/19/unitedhealth-group-earnings-downgrade-obamacare-affordable-care-act/76040322/AzWm

Obamacare is built on shoddy insurance practices. The basic element of all insurance is risk and Obamacare ignores this. Someone gets cancer, plunks down a $600 premium and then receives $200k of treatment. Who is going to pay for that? The insurance company may foot the bill initially, but they won't be in business for long without subsidies from the government. And who is going to pay for that?
If Obamacare is going to continue to function as is, we are undoubtedly going to see an increase in income taxes or even a VAT, just like in European countries. And frankly, we are going to see an overall drop in quality of care if this happens, just ask our veterans.

The cancer guy you mention is going to get treatment one way or the other anyway. Whether paid for by an insurance company, the government, or the hospital itself (which ultimately means you and I)

I will say again that ObamaKare was designed to fail with a single payer system in mind.

Grammar was never my strong point. Have worked on it all my life. "You and me" is correct but still sounds and looks wrong. One rap on the knuckles for me.
