So any opinions on how MW schools did in just the HS recruiting for 2016 ? Fresno and Utah State for sure (VerbalCommits.com). In the PAC, CAL and ASU. In the Big Lots UC Irvine and UCSB. However, he committed early. At this point: Fresno = 14 players USU = 11 players

FYI- Washington adds a player from both 2016 & 2017 classes. Which essentially eats up their roster spots for the next two years. Good news for the Aztecs if Romar has less leverage on players we look at. Assumes that Freshman Markelle Fultz doesn't go pro or others transfer.
4-star Jaylen Nowell from Seattle
3-star Harold Baruti - ex-Utah recruit

Would be great to get numerous opinions of how the 11 MW teams did in their HS recruiting for 2016 and 2015 ?
Huskies as we know play P5 roster moves , send players in and out similar to a revolving door . Their HS guard recruits is rated in top 5 player in the US so is supposed to be a one and done .

They should land both Porter Jr. & Trea Young, both 5-star recruits.

Why "HS recruiting"? Recruiting is about everyone you bring to the team, including JC's & transfers. It's about roster building. We landed McD this past year and Hemsley/Narain before that, but that was far from our 'recruiting'. Hoetzel, Izundu & Teki make our "recruiting" very good over that span. Since most MWC teams try & uncover late bloomers & projects who may not be big time contributors for a couple years we'll know how recruiting went in a few years. We'll see how many Jalen Moore's & Josh Adams emerge - both players I'd put up with any 4-star recruit.

so why the chill on asking What people think of the rating MW schools recruiting the HS players . As it happens Aztecs squad last year was made up of HS players and only 1 transfer . For 2016 we added Jalen and red shirt Nolan both top 100 players.
opinions and knowledge of what other MW schools added for 2016 for HS players ?

So how would you rate all 11 MW teams in their 2016 recruiting of HS players ? For all you Stan and all you haters. IMO, here's my top 10 incoming MWC Players, not including RS Freshman 1. William McDowell-White PG 6'5 185 Fresno State - 5-star Guard. This summer he played Nike Hoop Summit & the NBA’s prestigious Basketball Without Borders camp, Australian Ntl team. 2. Jalen McDaniels PF 6'9 195 SDSU 3. Kenny Wooton PF 6'9 210 Nevada 4. Devearl Ramsey PG 5'11 180 Neveda 5. Cheickna Dembele C 6'10 235 UNLV 6. Koby McEwen SG 6'3 180 Utah State 7. Bryson Williams SF 6'7 220 Fresno State 8. Ben Coupet SF 6'7 185 UNLV 9. Damien Jefferson SF 6'5 180 UNM 10. Josh Hall SF 6'7 195 Nevada 10. Kieth Fischer SF 6'8 210 SJSU

Kieth Fischer SF 6'8 210 SJSU I think both Hall & Ramsey are better recruits than Wooten for Nevada, and would move up Dembele above him as well. Some will even tell you Uguak (NM) has a ceiling higher than many of these guys, but is just raw. You also didn't include Koby McEwen (USU), who could be better than most of these guys as well. I haven't seen anything saying he's not coming in. That's just it - we have no clue the order of these recruits. Everyone will have a different opinion. We also don't know who does & doesn't make it onto campus at FSU. Right now they have 13 signed/on scholarship, and 2 more "committed" to the program. That tells me they don't expect 2 to get in. We'll know who are the better recruits in February or actually in '18. Until then we have no clue because other than the Aussie (if he comes) & McD, it's really wide open & we can probably expect MANY of those you rank below McD to contribute a LOT more than he does this year. When you throw in the JC recruits (McDougall, several others) this all changes as well and you can throw in all the RS's & come up with a "who's new" list, which changes things considerably once again.

I have McEwen from Canada as #6. Wooton was animal inside, especially in the State tourny (like Oliver under the radar.) I haven't seen Hall at all so you may be right, however rated Ramsey in the top 5. McDowell-White, played against Tatum, jackson, Monk on the USA team, so he has international and top-level experience. Big get for Fresno State.

So taking all the "newer " people : HS , transfers that can play in 2016 , red shirts that can play , what 6 schools would you project to have the quick boost for 2016 ?

Simple, those who lost the most. Since Vegas lost the most IMO, they will get the biggest "boost" from their new players in 2016. SDSU only needed to fill 3 rotation spots - we did extremely well. We won't really know anything until December/January, but looks to me that a lot of teams added some very good players.

IMO "newcomers" Valentine , Teki and Nolan will all play about 20 -25 minutes per game and make solid contributions for the Aztecs.

Here's what confuses me, the Aztecs are ranked a top #25 team, we've made the dance the last 7 of 8 years and we can't secure a big in 2017 when there is plenty of PT and the player could play a critical role for a MWC Championship, wins in Top OOC & Holiday tournaments, getting to the Dance and playing an underdog role?
We always put our cards on one ot two guys per position and recruit 8 guys per year when most schools look at 20+ recruits. Yes we have been successful, however, the last 3 years has been a struggle. Why so? Why the limits?

We have not been able to establish a strong track record to recruit guys right from HS that play the 5 or 4. We did get Nolan and Jaylen recently , Skylar about 4 or 5 years ago and Zylan. some recruits try to envision where their game would fit in here and maybe later the NBA? Do hope that Nolan can get it going in the right direction and why his development/ production is so important ?
