Star ratings of Aztecs vs the Power 5's & more

Pretty impressive list of recruiting star ratings, of ALL schools we are "above". Basically on 1 school per Power 5 is above us ie Kansas, Duke etc.

Low? They're sitting around the 25th highest rated roster overall, and many have them ranked about 15th to 20th in the preseason polls. The difference between having the 25th and 15th highest rated roster is relatively minimal. Lunardi has them as a 4 seed, so not like they're expected to rule the land, or even their own conference. 

They also just lost Dawson to the pros and Trice, so their roster may have been higher rated last year. Don't think it's too far off, and more a testament to Izzo than criticism of the verbal commits methodology. 

Another factor tore it doesn't include is experience. Izzo with a senior backcourt is tough, or any semi talented team is better when seniors than younger. Too bad it can't be weighted slightly by class, but even then that's a crapshoot.

I think it's more likely to error on the lower level teams. Those like BSU who have several 2 stars but are experienced and very talented. Or a USU.

Yep, both 4 star players across the board out of high school. Angelo in the #75 region, Dakarai hovering in the low #100's. I still feel Dakarai will make an impact here before his time is done.

If Dakarai's perimeter shooting has improved over last year that would be a huge bonus and give defenses even more to worry about!

He'll certainly have every opportunity to step up in light of Shrig's injury.

Chol was one of the higher level recruits in the country. Believe Scout had him at #43, and he chose UA over UNC & Kansas. Also had UW, UConn & others among his finalists.

Dakari wasn't as highly recruited as Chol, but at one time did have offers from Colorado, UCLA, USC, etc. I think his teammate was more highly regarded (Johnson), although he didn't pan out at UW.

Dakarai and Darin were about in same area but Dakarai was higher rated it looks like. I still think he'll finish his career very well.

Darin was the scorer for the HS team at SG with D.Williams the PG , D.Allen was SF or other front court player as needed ,good all around player but not a scoring style guy.. Allen and Williams were also noted for being good defensive players - best friends . . all HS team mates visited at the same time Darin said he preferred PAC school .
