Let me call your attention to the last page of the overall story...
The Rams partner with the Chargers in Inglewood. The Raiders move to St Louis. The sun rises. Life continues.

Actually, as I am now faced with the prospect of knee surgery at the ripe old age of 63, (and as a cancer survivor, doctors scare the sh*t otta me), I've got to totally agree with you. The Chargers will stay, the Chargers will go. The Aztecs will suck, the Aztecs will earn respect. Either way, it will have no impact on my personal life. My game plan this fall is/was to enjoy four hockey teams, (2 NHL, one A, and one AAA), around the western region, do some game day sports book action when possible, and maybe catch a couple of Aztec games. The bottom line...a city that defines its sports story as a lousy MLB team and a sub-par mid level college football team is not going to generate a hell of a lot of interest from any of us outside of the community of San Diego. Especially those of us that have choices. As I reflect on so many things now, and that includes looking back at the sports history of San Diego, (beginning with the loss of the Rockets), I shouldn't be surprised the city is where it is now. Thank goodness it's San Diego and not Rock Springs.

Don't sweat that knee stuff, I've had 2 knee surgeries and 1 arthroscopic surgery. The knee surgeries today are much better than they used to be and the rehabs too!

Thank goodness it's San Diego and not Rock Springs. I have one major rooting interest - Aztec Baketball. As far as professional sports are concerned, I have not purchased tix for any event since the 1980s, after one of the MLB work stoppages. I refuse to give billionaire owners one penny. The will screw you over any chance they get just to add to their treasure chest. Bob Breitbard purchased the Rocket for something around $1 million and then proceeded to see to the Houston group for more than $5 million a few years later. This was after the Rockets had averaged the 7th highest attendance int eh NBA. Donald Sterling would not spend a dime on the Clips but then reaps billions after he moves. Rich owners have no loyalty to you, me or any fan. If the Chargers move or stay makes no difference to me because my heart and my tix and donation money are going to SDSU.

Oh, and over 60 stitches to my face in March and removal of cancer in the muscle of my right shoulder a couple of months ago. other than that, i'm in great shape

I'm 63. I'm retired. I had a knee replacement two years ago.
I'm booked for Cal and Penn State.
Gonna do the 250 mile round trip drive to San Diego this weekend to see my Aztecs.
I hope the team keeps improving. I love Rocky. I would be happy with an on-campus stadium or sharing a new stadium with the Chargers or anyone else.
I'm not grumpy. Lucky to have a FBS team to call my own.
I hope the Rams come back to LA (I went to my first Rams game in 1958).
I hope the Chargers stay in San Diego, but if they come to LA, I'll have two pro teams to root for.
Sorry for not being negative. Peace.

Log me in with a two year old fake knee that sets off alarms at the airport. And several back procedure. With that I'll be sitting on the aisle in section MM at Cal so I can stretch out. Wouldn't miss it for anything. Go Aztecs

Back to OT, this is good news. Not that I hold much hope of them returning anyway, the worst case for SDSU IMO would be a DT NFL stadium.
We can live with a new $1.1B stadium in MV, or eliminating them from the stadium equation overall, but getting 2 stadiums built and/or forcing the SDSU fan base and especially students DT would be brutal.
PS. Good luck with surgery

I have patellar tendonitis in both knees and no surgery seems to be recommended so I struggle along. No, San Diego isn't exactly a great sports town. And, I've been to Rock Springs. And I survived!!!!

Does this really change anything?
No one believes a 2/3 vote is going to pass anyway. Briggs even said an expanded Convention Center on the waterfront will never happen. So, we're still going to be in the same situation here next year when the 2/3 vote fails.
I know the Chargers don't want MV but that is still on the table for the Chargers to take when Kroenke gets the ticket to LA next year.
I just wonder how we're ever going to get a CC expansion done since apparently everyone says a 2/3 vote will NEVER pass here.
