Terrific news! Makes me laugh just thinking about those who worry and panic so much about our basketball recruiting. JAM Center is huge...our fans and arena atmosphere are even bigger. Keep it up people. Never let an opportunity pass to tell anyone on our basketball staff what a fantastic job they are doing and how much they are all appreciated. We are riding a very special wave..and there is no reason it has to slow down. Now we just need to build an SDSU football stadium.

The fact he just came off a visit from Oregon and picked SDSU after seeing the JAM speaks volumes. It's always good when a player picks SDSU over Pac12 and Big12.

Good get. Has the physical tools to be a very good defender as our coaches usually get the best out of our players on that side. Struggled shooting at Missouri but gets to the basket and draws fouls. Should fit in well with our defensive thug style of bball. He is welcomed. Averaged 12.4 points in his first 13 games as a true freshman. He scoring dropped off after suffering a back injury. If he's healthy, we probably don't have to worry about his shooting.

Hitting all the highlights: The JAM center matters, a beautiful city matters, Kawhi matters.

What I liked about his High School tape was: His soft touch at the FT line His Kawhi-like expression after making shots (although that seemed to have changed a bit at Mizzu) His shooting range That he didn't try to dunk on every layup That he appeared to be immediately looking for his defensive man after scoring I'm very excited about the future of this program. Thanks Coaches!!!!!!!

Remember when you said we were going to stop recruiting transfers because we had arrived at a certain level of high school recruiting? Bahahaha.

Why'd he leave Mizzou? The Real Oracle Out I saw a quote saying he didn't want to live there for 4 years. Said he couldn't see himself returning to campus in the future and wanted a change of scene to enjoy the college experience more.

Said he couldn't see himself returning to campus in the future and wanted a change of scene to enjoy the college experience more. I am of the mind that San Diego in general is as big a reason or more of a reason then the JAM center. Not having the JAM center is a negative, having it is not a huge advantage as many other programs have similar facilities. Having beautiful weather and pretty coeds, IMO, plays a bigger role in the mind of a young man living in the wretched winters of Canada. I would suspect now that SDSU's recruiting footprint is widening considerably, many kids who want to get out of the nasty weather and crappy cities would view SDSU as an option. One thing I never understood was Arizona and how they are able to recruit so well given how horrible [unbearable heat] their weather is. I get that they are a top program, but there are other top programs an elite player could go to without sticking their head in an oven. One thing is for sure, recruiting at SDSU is entering a stage where getting a 4-star is routine and at some point, it is possible that our entire rotation will be rated 4 stars or higher. I remember how excited I was when Leonard came to SDSU as a 4 star athlete, and he was clearly underrated as he played like a 5 star during his time at SDSU. I guess the next level would be to grab a 5 star every other year, I realize we got two in Shep and Pope, but had Pope been totally healthy, I don't think he ends up at SDSU.
