Love having 7 home games in 17 and 18. Now we need to find a 2nd P5 game for that 2nd weekend in 19, who also happens to be willing to play us first in SD to get that 6th home game.

Excellent scheduling. These OOC schedules make sense. They provide us with winnable games, as well as high profile winnable games that will get us recognized.

Based on where we are as a program today...this is good scheduling. Need a good home game for 2019. If we start beating the P5 teams on our schedule routinely and winning our league (atleast the west division) yearly then we need to upgrade our OOC schedule. But for now it's fine as is. Rocky knows what he's doing. I felt like Craft and some of our previous coaches over-scheduled.

The HC can definitely veto a proposal if he doesn't believe it's in the best interest of his team.
But guys like JD & now Bob are the one's working the phones, checking other teams schedules, etc.
For hoops, believe it's typically one of the lesser assistants who's lining up most of the games, with the exception of the tourney invites, ESPN kick-off games, special events (USD at Petco), etc.

Don't get it twisted...head coaches have the most influence and the final say.

Not in football they don't. That is the turf of the AD and his designee. Rocky did not know about the USD agreement until after it happened . Now at Alabama and Ohio State it's different as they overshadow the AD but not here

Isn't it the AD's who make the schedules? I thought the coaches had little control over the schedules I can't imagine Fisher not being very involved in scheduling Basketball and Football are too entirely different animals. Basketball teams agree to play each other at most a year in advance, SDSU football already has games scheduled for 2022. He is correct, football schedules are mostly orchestrated by ADs with a few exceptions, like if a school has a legendary coach who they know will be there for a long time. Even then it's still coordinated by the ADs, it's just the coaches have more input. Do you think SDSU was stupid enough to let Brady Hoke decide who they would play 4 years down the line when he wouldn't even be there?

I am most looking forward to the game at Happy Valley. It would be nice to finally hold on for 4 quarters and come out of there with a dub. I will not be surprised if the Aztecs get it done.
