Smart branding efforts by UNLV “The UNLV name is going to be shown in so many countries throughout the world, and that’s good for the whole university.” In an ongoing project that will wrap up near the end of next week, the Rebels worked with UNLV’s Planning and Construction department and marketing company Derse to create signage and branding around Mendenhall’s two full basketball courts. The result is that pretty much all two hours of NBATV’s live coverage and nearly every photo or video recorded at Tuesday’s practice had something UNLV in the background.

I'm guessing none of the signage touted Dave Rice.

lasvegassun.com/news/2015/aug/12/new-unlv-signage-mendenhall-center-walls-time-usa-/Congratulations to UNLV for actually using the educated talent ON-CAMPUS for projects in the Athletic Dept rather than going outside (as we've done over and over) and pay a fortune for someone who doesn't really give a crap to come up with something that makes sense.

Um, except they actually used a company named Derse for their marketing effort...which is clearly stated above.

We may be better than UNLV in almost everything, but they sure have us beat in the marketing department...ever since they gave 2pac their gear to wear in music videos.

So team USA agrees to practice/play games in Vegas & the fact UNLV have their logo/brand around the court is smart? That's "educated talent"? Wouldn't it be STUPID not to? Our practice facility has branding everywhere.
This is a big reason ASU has been working with USA basketball to move their home facility to Tempe, which would also move their practices & games there as well. ASU was dumb not to make it work out.

Look, I love my Rebels as much as anyone, but we need to start seeing all of this marketing payoff on the football field and basketball court eventually.
