What started off as a great thread just became snarky crap. WTF? Exactly. I am growing to not like coming to this board anymore. No matter what happens in football, there is a host of negative posters that find it their job to start tearing down: Rocky, Sterk, fan base, other (positive focused)posters, our schedule, the MWC, the stadium, our geography (proving we can't get into the B-12), QBs, etc. It just gets old. People...Enjoy the ride! It's actually a good one. Not great, but WAAAAYYYY better than before. We ALL hope to improve to the next level and no one is settling or choosing mediocrity and saying, "we've arrived". But being positive actually can help get us their faster, rather than dumping on everything football related. Request: please don't dump negativity on EVERY football thread. Yes, have your say, state your opinion, but in threads that are clearly positive focused, leave them be. There are PLENTY of negative focused threads for you to vent on. Now watch...the negatives will ignore the core of my post and jump to the very edge and try to portray me as saying, "Don't ever post anything negative ever." Go Aztecs! This board still has lots of good posters but seems to get more of the negative opinions. Not to try to take posters from here to another board but .com started by K5 is a good board. Seems mostly football people on there but they have some awesome discussions about actuall football and all that is Aztec related. Nice to have options for boards IMO. K5 does an awesome job on his recruiting excel sheets that keep track of potential recruits and he has actual game film that breaks down what is happening.

fixed so web addy can be seen since A. P. E. is not friendly towards other Aztec boards. Which is ironic because of how *this* board came to gain its following from the migration of users of another forum...

One of the newer positives about Aztec football is how attractive it has become to quality JC transfers. Here are three who should really help on defense this year. Watch for them. #59 -- Kyle Kelly 6-3/260 now #2 behind Jon Sanchez at DL. Had big number at Saddleback last year after leaving Arizona. Had numerous P5 offers out of HS in Irvine where he was a Parade Mag. All American. Has two years to play #43 -- Austin Wyatt-Thayer 6-5/230 now #2 behind Jake Fely. Was all everything at Sierra College in NorCal. Caught my eye at the scrimmage as fast and excellent tackler. Three stars according Rivals out if HS. Picked us over five other MWC schools. #40 -- Randy Ricks 6-3/230 now listed as the starter at MLB. Came in as a DL but apparently has impressed the coaches with his speed. Has pushed Ryan Dunn and Jay Henderson down below him on the depth chart as of now and Henderson played in nine games last year. Wanted to come here out of HS but needed to get his grades in order and did so at Arizona Western. From Las Vegas and looks like he may have slipped under the radar. Had 43 tackles and 8.5 sacks last year on an 11-1 team. Perhaps we'll see them on special teams as well. This was one of the positives when Aztec football was successful back in the '70's. Then it was decided the program needed to "upgrade" to blue chip four year players. Oooops.

Asking people not to post negative comments is like asking the zebra to change its stripes...
At first I thought the idea of publicly shaming a person would help...but alas the posters on this board (among millions others) are practically anonymous so their is no shame when there is no real identity assigned to a handle...
In a very convoluted way...this seems to be the appeal Donald Trump is bringing to politics...saying publicly what others are silently thinking...no matter how screwed up or factually inaccurate those ideas may be...
I rarely agree with the options of someone like MOW, Retiredaztec, aFan or Honey Badger...but I have to give them a great deal of credit for espousing an opinion that might not be as PC as we would all like...and in many ways they are the "Donald Trumps" of Aztec Mesa...

It would seem that many people on this board have separation anxiety, along with a deep personal attachment to the HC and administration. Disagreement disrupts their love/contentment continuum, forcing them to lash out at those not prostrating themselves to the Hirshy/Sterky/Rocky triumvirate. Sort of their personal Svengali. What think you on't?

What think you on't? Or maybe we just think that they are doing a good job relative to their predecessors and have lived through coaches and/or administrators who are much worse than what we currently have... The counter argument may be that we can also possibly get a better set of leaders if we only looked hard enough and are willing to open the coffers...but that supposition isn't supported or correlated by history at SDSU or other campuses across the nation. In reality...it's a roll-of-the-dice...and if a school does manage to come up with a winner...it is highly likely that those leaders will seek higher ground and a fatter pay check at a school with significantly better financial resources...so a school with limited resources is left with yet another roll...

Why are you even responding to that blatant troll (who is now demonstrating a classic case of projection)?

It's as though you think we need a reminder on every thread how you feel about the program. Are you thinking perhaps we are all senile (keeping in mind I suspect some on here may be, but it's a very small percentage).

Maybe. Is there a school in the current G5 set of schools that let a coach go that was winning games, getting to bowl games and then had the new coach lead the team to a better record, higher level of success?
