Huh.. You mean losing to Cal Poly, Eastern Illinois (40-19), Power House UNLV (19-45), Navy,Louisiana–Lafayette, SJSU, Wyoming, and three straight to Fresno State is major improvement??? 2-7 in Bowl Game appearances as a HC... Calling a 13-0 record this year with the cup cake schedule... #No more Excuses# #Raising the bar for SDSU football# As soon as SDSU shows the same level of support for football facilities as it does for basketball facilities (Viejas and JAM center) is when you will see a significant step towards moving the football program to the next level. Improvements to the practice field and the weight room, as well as the football offices were a good start. Unfortunately the stadium investment can't take shape until chargers situation is resolved.

5 years back UCLA did not have a good football team and games are at the Rose Bowl with terrible attendance. So they got a high quality coach and a very good team on the field . CSU rebuilt up their football team with quality coach and results on the field to help get new facility ( also had great buy out clause for departing coach to pay ) . A new facility will help SDSU but to think that is the silver bullet to have a high quality football team could be a reach . Aztecs are improving but team must produce first with MW championship. Goal needs to be MW Championship game at the very least .

You mean the winning-ist period in Aztec sports history across the board? That lack of commitment? #No more Excuses# #Raising the bar for SDSU football# You said: "if there was more commitment to winning by the department." I merely pointed out your comprehension and context challenged response. This department has demonstrated a commitment to winning and our departmental record is the best in our history. You are welcome.

CSU had the stadium planned long before they returned to a winning program that is slightly better than ours at the moment.

Goal needs to be MW Championship game at the very least . I don't believe it is the "silver bullet" but it is probably the most significant piece of the puzzle. We don't have to look very far to see what facilities can do for a sports program. SDSU basketball did not become successful until after Cox/Viejas was built. That facility is one of the primary reasons we were able to attract a quality coach & higher caliber athletes that eventually translated into wins on the court. The combination of winning in a quality facility, with a quality coach and quality athletes has created one of the best basketball environments on the west coast. SDSU basketball is the model SDSU football must emulate and Jim Sterk readily acknowledges this.
