I just wanted to let everyone who is planning on parking at Beaver Stadium for the PSU game to order your parking passes now. Call 1-800-NITTANY to secure a pass for $15. If you buy the pass on gameday, it is $40. Also, if you forget to order over the phone but are in State College the day before the game, you can buy a pass for $15 at the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office. The BJC is located right across from the football stadium. www.gopsusports.com/tickets/m-footbl-parking.html

I am driving up and have full tailgate kit but without someone as knowledgeable and helpful as we did last time at UNC (AztecDevil), I am hesitant to set up a full-blown TG. Do you have recommendations or good POCs for me to contact? Thanks

Just an FYI to those of you flying in/out of NYC, Philly, or DC/BWI for the game. The entire week leading up to the game is UN week in NYC which is a mess in and of itself but the pope will be in NYC on Thursday and Friday, Philly Saturday and Sunday, and DC the preceding Tuesday through Thursday. The airports and traffic will be bad - plan accordingly.

Do you have recommendations or good POCs for me to contact? Thanks All yellow lots (outside of the East Halls parking deck) are in grass fields but are adequate for tailgating. A couple of the lots are hilly, but that hasn't stopped anyone from tailgating. With that being said, you really won't have a choice with parking as the parking attendants will direct you to the lot and a spot. I would get to the lots no later than 10:00 so that you have ample time to tailgate and walk around a bit. Just know that traffic getting into the stadium can be rough, so plan accordingly.

Those are also the two easiest places to drive to State College from.

Where will you be driving in from? Noon games are ones where people typically get in very close to game time so you should have no problems. Coming that early should also give you time to take a walk around campus, although you will probably want to wait to check out the downtown area until after the game.

I'm flying into State College pretty late on Thursday are there shuttles or taxis readily available? Yes, taxis are available. There is shuttle service as well, but I am not sure how late that service runs. Here are some contacts for both... universityparkairport.com/passenger-info/taxis-shuttles/link
Where will you be staying? Depending on the hotel/location, I could give you some tips.

Where will you be staying? Depending on the hotel/location, I could give you some tips. This is partly why I want guests from other schools to identify themselves. Previously reading this thread I just thought you were an Aztec fan who lives, or lived, in the Penn St. area and was sharing their local knowledge. I am much more impressed and appreciative to find that you are a Penn St. fan who is providing all this help to our fans. I wish I were making the trip so I might say hello to you in person. Thank you.

Thanks, I'm staying at the Penn Stater. Flight gets in at 11 something pm. The Penn Stater is nice, so you should have a good stay. It's only a mile from the stadium so I would suggest walking IF you don't mind doing so along the street. They may have a shuttle service going or a bus on game day, so I would call and ask. One negative about the Penn Stater is that it kind of sits all by itself so outside of the hotel restaurant, there really isn't anywhere you could walk to for a meal. Becaue of this, I would recommend that you go downtown to eat after the game and just pick up a short taxi ride back to the hotel when you are done for the day. Downtown sits right below campus and has plenty of variety. If you need recommendations, let me know what kind of food you are interested in and I will tell you your options.

Got our Penn State Parking pass in the mail. What lot did you get? I'm about to send off and more Aztecs in the same lot, the better. All yellow parking passes are unassigned so you pretty much just go where they tell you to park. If you want a reserved pass, the lot colors I would suggest you look for are green, red and purple. Currently, stub hub has these available for around $70. Blue, orange, pink and brown are all a waste of money, IMO. They are really not all that much better than yellow.

Thanks, I don't mind spending the money, I have purple coming in from all over, mainly SD and wouldn't mind having something a little more definitive to tell them. Of green, red and people, which are the best for tailgating and access to and from the game? I agree with the other poster and appreciate your help.

Red is all paved, green is mostly paved and purple is partially paved. The paved part of the green lot has the PSU high donors. If you want a guaranteed paved spot, go with red. I believe that both red and green have numbered spots, so you will have a reserved spot. Both lots are right next to the stadium and both are great for tailgating. Just know that you will have to wait an hour or two after the game to get out of the lots. A few more notes... Once the game starts you are not allowed to drink in the lots until the game is over. Also, once it the stadium you cannot leave and renter. When entering the stadium, you are not allowed to bring any kind of bag, beverage/food or umbrella. Wear something with pockets.
