We have a wide variety of very athletic guys recruited by the this coaching staff, time for the coaches to adjust the system so it makes the most out of the talented players they recruited . Get into transition as much as possible and attack the basket . Lay ups , slam dunks , short jumpers , draw fouls . Malik for some threes . Could be one of the most exciting offenses we have had in a long time if we let them get into gear and quickly . Similar to the days of White , Leonard , Thomas up front . Agree slam dunks in practice are not as important as scoring during a game . Zylan has not played a game yet , could be a talent but better wait until he faces live opponents . Do you think he is a better offensive talent then Malik ?
Shrigley had been working like crazy as he has for the last 3 years . Always hear. Matt is just lighting it up in practice . Then the season starts , hot and cold , not consistent , or able to create a shot off his dribble , or drive and draw fouls . Maybe this year was going to be different , had high hopes but until he or others show it on the court it is just that high hopes . We need improvement from every player on the team , none have reached their potential . All are working hard , we will see who steps up and who stays about the same.

It is the time of year for projections, predictions, and hope. It is only natural to hope for an amazing season. It is also easier to place those hopes on the shoulders of the players that we haven't seen. In reality, it is the exception when a player transforms into a monster out of nowhere during the offseason. Typically players show flashes of talent and potential and then learn to harness those things. I don't think it is realistic to expect a player who was given significant minutes in the previous year to suddenly learn how to catch the ball, get to the hole and finish, and knock down free throws and jump shots. It is much easier to pin ones hopes to a player that you haven't seen.

Anybody who thinks Hemsley isn't going to be the starting PG just isn't paying attention. He might start but what type of minutes he gets will be determined on how good he is playing. He could be the starter but only get 10 minutes a game or 20 if he is playing well.I have never seen a freshman dominate since Evan Burns but miracles can happen. We have a very small sample size of freshmen rated as high as JH. I would gladly take Chase Tapely's freshman season: 61.7%, 37.6%, 71.4% on 2p, 3p, and FT.
