No real surprises although I did expect Mills or Judge over Favreau. He just didn't look comfortable last year, but it was his first year at the position so to be expected. Good to see him emerge.
If our O-line can fill in for Greene for 6 weeks, start to gel and keep pressure off Smith we should be fine on that side of the ball. Do need a WR to step up. Looking at the D' side it's hard not to get very excited. They'll be tested early facing 2 of the top 10 QBs in the country, so hopefully they don't lose confidence early but instead realize the bar was just set very high. SDSU & BSU should both have GREAT defenses.

Good to see Jake Fely listed first string here and somewhat surprising that Darrell Green is listed ahead of Craighead although he is suspended. This is clearly the deepest Aztec team in memory. Very little fall off at most positions.

I'd like to thank our brief stint with the Big East conference and Coach White for getting us higher tier recruits (from far and wide).

I was surprised to see that 2 of the Aztec big hitters are no longer on the roster... Darrel Porter the 2nd team Aztec position player from a year ago and Fred Trevillon (SP?) from Miss. who was expected to make the 2-deep this season as a true Soph. That is unfortunate. The good news is that Watson, the DL from Illinois. is back on the roster and should see meaningful time as a DE this year.

I went to the spring game and chatted with some parents of the OL . They told me the offense they expected the team to use this year had Not been installed yet . Expected to see a Pro style with spread options. They did say Horton was so much better then Toledo as OC . As are the other new offensive coaches , more involvement , direction and enthusiasm , you really hear them directing the guys. Real battle for positions will come as they start fall practices .

Grrene and Melifonwu are suspended for half of the regular season and this writer makes no mention of Kyle Kelley, who will definitely be in the two-deep by the time the conference season rolls around.

Yeah, I think Kelley isn't listed in the media guide yet though so that might explain why no mention.

Very little fall off at most positions. Assume for the moment we have a better than expected first 6 games, 5-1, 6-0. Do you break up a chemistry by having Greene replacing Craighead or do you continue to go with the winning hand? I guess the point is Greene has really screwed himself with whatever (and I'm guessing) NCAA violation he got himself mixed up in.

That defense should be nasty. How much will the suspensions hurt the defense?

Beiieve Ryan Krum OL was a transfer from UAB , glad that Kam Kelley speedster on returns/DB is back after his injury . Slater is good story coming here as a Juco . Also is it Tezino (sp) LB the other 4 star recruit ?

Yes Tezino is the other but don't expect to see him except on special teams but that too is dubious as a red shirt is probably in his future

I'd forgotten about Kam Kelley. Hopefully he's all the way back from that freaky injury.
