BTW, “insider” simply means they read about it on another website. Remember all the “insider” info about Rivers to Tennessee being a done deal? These guys don’t know anything.

Problems for Spanos: - No one believes the NFL will choose Carson over Inglewood. - The Raiders are the one with the hopeless stadium situation. Unless Davis sells the team to someone, their best bet is probably sucking it up and shacking up with the 49ers. - Spanos can't build a stadium on his own in LA. - Faulconer is making the Chargers look bad because they're successfully jumping through every hoop the Chargers throw up. - Kroenke's billions makes Spanos look like he shops at Walmart. Kroenke will get his way. Spanoi greed 15 years ago is what killed them...to bad the economy went belly up. Unlike places like St. Louis, Seattle, etc... we have better things to do than watch a mediocre team play in a billion dollar hole in the ground...Now wait, I thought the conversation was about the Chargers. Now the conversation is about the Aztecs?

Wait, the subject isn't Aztec football, is it? Since the Chargers versus the city question has such crucial implications for Aztec football, we have allowed threads such as this one to be posted on this board.
WLRSo said the Charger honk. To Hades with the Bolts!

LaCanfoura is based in Maryland/DC. He doesn't know what's going on in So Cal. And Dan Sileo had a "letter" from an "NFL executive" last week detailing all the problems with San Diego's plan. As everyone suspected, that "source" turned out to be Fabiani. Fabiani is controlling the media (that's what he does) and people are falling for it, hook line and sinker. No one knows how this is really going to all turn out but you can make some good educated guesses by analyzing the facts that are out there and not basing it off of "NFL insiders" going off of unnamed "NFL sources". Of course, a few people here are desperately trying to find any type of report to back their wishes. They don't care what the source is.

The City of San Diego issuing an ultimatum tells me that they received some assurances from the league that gave the City some leverage. In the end, the NFL is a business and the Chargers have brand loyalty in San Diego. The NFL probably wants to keep that intact.

Also, the fact that Fabiani is so desperate to discredit anything the city does to show the NFL that they can't get anything done here, is a big red flag that they are scared s**tless of Kroenke getting to LA before them. This really looks like a hail mary play for them. Carson's government is in shambles. Carmen Policy? Please. He's been irrelevant for ten years and they dust him off and bring him out and now he's already skipping out on appearances and the three stooges (Robles, Fabiani and Policy) couldn't get their alibi straight. The whole thing is a joke.

Time to see if Stan is really serious about LA or not.

Time to see if Stan is really serious about LA or not. I bet the NFL is super motivated to move the Rams from a city willing to provide free land and $450 million in stadium funding without putting it to a vote.

I agree, and maybe this is enough incentive for him however Stan is going to do what he wants to do. He could still very well apply for relocation. In the end, with all the teams, it just depends on how the other owners vote.

Looking like more and more it will be the Rams staying in St. Louis and the Raiders and Chargers in LA in 2016.

Kroenke has shown no desire to get a stadium deal done in St. Louis so it's still too early to say what's going to happen. I'll say it again, he's going to do what he wants to. Maybe it's to stay in St Louis and take that deal but he's already in pretty deep in Inglewood and has been working on this for years now. If he feels more money is to be made there, where do you think he's going to try to go?
The only team that has shown to be willing to stay in their home market are the Raiders but that's because they're in such a dire situation. The Rams and the Chargers haven't been working with their cities at all.

Right now, when it comes to stadium leverage, Kroenke's holding three kings whereas Spanos has the equivalent of a pair of sixes. And Spanos knows that. Of course, Dino still thinks he's going to draw two more sixes.

At this point, I am OK with them leaving. I dislike Spanos and his management team pretty intensely. I think I would find it hard to root for them after this extortion attempt anyway.
Go to LA, see how they will put up with 1 Super Bowl Appearance in 50 years.

"Giants owner John Mara went on WFAN Sports Radio on Monday and said he believes there will be two NFL teams in Los Angeles for the 2016 season; Mara's comments are significant because he is one of six members on the NFL's Los Angeles relocation committee, headed by the league executive vice president Eric Grubman. As it stands, three teams are in the running to jump ship to Los Angeles. One of them is the Rams, who on Monday received a ruling from a judge that they can use city tax dollars to build a new stadium in St. Louis without needing a public vote, making it more likely the team stays put. Meanwhile, the Raiders and Chargers appear to be moving further and further away from working things out in their home markets. While San Diego continues to push for expedited environmental studies to get a vote in by January, the Chargers have said hey won't be a part of the process because they don't think it can legally happen. There hasn't been much progress in Oakland either, as it appears more and more likely the Raiders are headed out of town to build a proposed $1.7 billion shared stadium with the Chargers in Carson." 247sports.com/Bolt/Giants-owner-believes-NFL-will-have-two-teams-in-LA-in-2016-38540039

You do realize that if the Rams do stay put in St. Louis, the race for LA is over. How do we know what the Chargers would do next? They've claimed all along that they're only doing all this because of Kroenke. Whether that's the real truth or not, who knows?
I guess we'll find out, but first Kroenke would have to agree to a deal in St. Louis.

The train is in motion and the Chargers will end up smelling like a rose. Charger fans hate Fabiani but that guy is worth his weight in gold to the Spanos family.
