Its the Chargers.. They really want to be in LA unfortunately cheap owner dont survive in LALA land. There Their puppet Mark Fabiani will try to cloud the situation by having a lame excused that there their fax machine wasnt wasn't working. That date will come and go... The Chargers are really competing against the Rams owner.. I dont don't see any incentive for the Rams owner to share his own NFL stadium. The Carson site is a complete joke. The only two options the chargers have is either share a stadium with the Rams (play second fiddle to the Rams) or come back to SD.

Finally the City is doing something at least. Setting a deadline two days before the regular season kicks off is a strong move.
Once the Chargers miss the deadline we can start the true process of figuring out how to build a stadium for the Aztecs and for the possibility of a MLS team.

Interesting no mention of the Sept 11 deadline in the San Diego UT today . Does mention city of San Diego will present at the NFL meeting on Aug 11 . Also that CA Assembly leader T. Atkinswas there, will present legislation about CEQA to CA Assembly, , plus Ron Roberts County Supervisor , Michael Zischke CEQA expert hired by the city , representatives from AECOM environmental consulting firm ( with 100 experts ) all part of the 2.1 million being spent by the city to get Q project paper work moving forward ( also let NFL know about the 2.1 ). NFL also had their lawyers there to bring up any legal concerns, plus San Diego City Attorney. Goldsmith .
San Diego Paper wants to show what San Diego is doing to keep Chargers and LA / OC papers wants Chargers up there so articles are slanted in the direction to move . So the merry go round continues to spin and the game of musical chairs .

Ron Roberts said that he doesn't expect the Chargers to do anything until they're denied LA. So nothing is probably going to happen until January/February. Then the real fun will start...

I like the way you guys think.. I just don't see any way that the NFL would choose the Chargers or Raiders over the Rams for the first team in. It just doesn't make any sense. Even if the Carson proposal is real (which I still don't believe) Kroenke has an advantage in every way: money, better location, bigger fan base, less environmental issues. The list goes on and on.

What about the City of San Diego mandated deadline given to the Chargers of 9/11/15? "San Diego officials have chosen Sept. 11 as the deadline for the NFL’s Chargers to agree on a new stadium in Mission Valley and thus commit to staying in San Diego."

"With St. Louis and Missouri inching toward completing a stadium plan intended on helping the Rams finance a new home, the easy solution is keeping the Rams in St. Louis and sending the Raiders and Chargers to Carson."

I saw this today and I hope it's legit. Nothing reported out of the San Diego media though so that's a bit strange. If true, Faulconer is basically calling Spanos and Fabiani's bluff and telling them get back to the negotiating table. Doesn't mean that nothing can happen next year though. If Spanos don't get the relocation votes to LA, they'll have to come crawling back to Faulconer. How I would LOVE to see that.

The only two options the chargers have is either share a stadium with the Rams (play second fiddle to the Rams) or come back to SD. The thing is that it is not really up to the Chargers since the NFL owners need to vote on it and they are going to vote for what is most profitable for them. Oakland has no stadium deal. The Rams and San Diego do. The Chargers cannot move without the Raiders and the Rams have the best stadium deal. Plus LA don't really want the Chargers, the they want the Rams and Raiders. So if I were the owners I would vote for Rams or Rams and Raiders to LA. Plus, I think the Chargers still want to stay in SD no matter what they indicate publicly. I think they want to push the NFL to LA back a year to give them more time to make a deal in SD for a downtown location.

Is it actually a legit comment and time frame?
