Zeigler was on 1090 today . He has talked with Nolan and his family . Great down to earth supportive family. Nolan has taken all the classes he would need to reclassify for 2015 . Nolan realizes he is going to have to spend a lot of time in the gym working on his game learning from coaches,Spencer , Chol, Shepard , Pope , Zylan , D. Allen red shirting so he could hit the ground running in 2016 when he would be really needed . Also knows he must spend time building up his frame . Zeigler said Nolan would make his decision in August . Sounds like Narain will be on campus for the Fall, Ziegler sounded positive about him being in SD, learning BB, getting stronger, hitting the gym and being in a good environment. BTW, Fisher not only sent Kawhi to the NBA, but Webber, Rose and Howard. Fish can back it up. I do have some anxiety about Dutch taking over, even though they have a 25 year relationship. I love Dutch also, but let's be honest, you need a brand to sell many kids. Whether it be a school (like Kansas, AZ or Duke – the Aztecs are building a brand), conference (we lose here) or a coach (i.e. Calipari). Fisher is a brand through his days at Michigan and now the program he has created here, sure Dutch has been along every step of the way, but he is not the brand. The other area where this is important is attracting assistants (recruiters) which folks don’t mention. IF Dutch can maintain the recruiting and W/L record for 2-3 season after Fisher is gone, we will be just fine, however, IF this program dips immediately after Fisher retires, it could spell a trip back to medioctiryville as the magic could disappear quickly. Again I love Dutch and think he deserves a shot, but this program will be at a crossroads when Fisher retires and while I know it won’t happen, I am of the mindset that you might get one shot at keeping the brass ring and think the wisest course of action would be to conduct a full search for a QUALIFIED tier 1 BB head coach with some cache.

this is the recruiting section . We can discuss the Dutcher, when he takes over situation, in the regular section .But why now. , keep in mind it was Coach Fisher who set up the Dutcher coach in waiting . one of the reasons was other coaches kept saying to recruis, you know if you go to SDSU , Fisher is going to leave soon . The other reason, Fisher thinks he would be a good head coach . As we all know , if you can recruit and win you are a good coach . Lose and you are on the clock .We know Fisher is here for at least this year , after that even though he has a few more years , it is year to year, it is up to him . But to ask a question , what happens if this team does not do as well ? Any way back to recruiting , this section, good recruiting , and good teams you have chance to win .

If he does come to red shirt a year, it would be great if he and Max could work together. They can learn from each other. Big guys play a lot of one on one in games. The new practice facility makes scheduling a time that is good for both much much easier.

Shelton scrimmages with the Scout team & will play the role of Avila, et al during practice.

Didn't know that. I remember him in pain in some games so I just kind of figured he'd be taking it easy on those knees.

Fisher can talk to his neighbor Bill Frieder (former Arizona Coach) who attends a lot of Aztec Games.
