Per his travel team director, 2017 PG Jade Smith of Team Superstar's 16U team has picked up an offer from San Diego State. He is 6'2 inch 165 pound PG, other offers include: Montana, NMSU, Nevada an UNM. ESPN has him as a 3-star and number #18 in the state of CA with no others services reporting.

ESPN REporting Strengths: Smith is a smooth point guard that is a good athlete and has a nice feel for the game. He can push the ball on the break, set up the offense and attack the lane as needed. He is a good ball handler and passer as well as a good shooter.

From Scout.com
“I grew up a fan of Oregon,” he said. “My family is from there."
“I want to stay close,” Smith said. “I don’t want to go really far. I want to go somewhere where I can learn business.”

Jade' Smith talks to Scout.com. www.scout.com/high-school/california/story/1579149-fab-48-jad-smith-talks-recruiting"....Several teams have already taken notice, and he has early offers from San Diego State, Montana, San Jose State, Utah, New Mexico and Nevada. Northwestern was also in the stands to watch Smith last month in Las Vegas, as was California – (Jason) Kidd’s alma mater, and the school closest to his home. “I haven’t visited anywhere yet. I want to visit San Diego State and pretty much most of the schools that have contacted me,” Smith says. “I’ve been to Cal multiple times. It wasn’t an unofficial or anything, but I’ve been to Cal multiple times to watch their games and to visit the school with my middle school and stuff.” ...."

He's been called the best player to come out of Alameda (Calif.) St. Joseph Notre Dame since Jason Kidd. Sounds like a player to me. CAL has been watching him as well.

Smith All - East Bay 1st team, Jr. PG out of St. Joseph-Notre Dame in Oakland. www.contracostatimes.com/high-school-sports/ci_29705134/all-east-bay-boys-basketball-teams Recent write up on his CIF performance "Jade’ Smith (Alameda St. Joseph Notre Dame): The 6-3 Smith (by the way, his first name is pronounced “Jaw-DEE”) is one of the best “combo guard” prospects in the West Coast Class of 2017, as he demonstrated with his 21-point, 11-rebound and two-assist effort." Laslty here's another top Nor Cal PG, that is highly sought after. I see that Tony Bland is on him and has offers from USC, CAL, Oregon St, Wazzu, among other. DAMARI MILSTEAD, Moreau Catholic, Jr., guard -- Milstead paced the Mariners in scoring with 18.8 points per game, including a career-high 35 in the NCS Division 3 final. www.verbalcommits.com/players/damari-milstead

future150.com/hs/basketball-news/jade-smith-continuing-to-fly-under-the-radarSt. Mary's, SDSU, and Nevada have offered him; while Washington, Kansas, and Boise State have reached out as well. Cal was thought to be the leader for his services before his lead recruiter there joined the Nevada Wolfpack’s staff. Kansas desperately looking for a PG includes Thornton and Watson, two players the Aztecs are looking at.

Offered by Santa Clara today and St. Mary's previously, I have to imagine that we are not recruiting any PG strongly with Watson, Seiko coming in and Germ as our starting PG.
