Our defense will be top 20 again, it all rides on the QB and the O-lines ability to block for him.

2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0 Yes, this year! Craighead may save the day until Greene returns. Tackle eligible? Pulling guard? Will his speed, feet and hands outweigh his somewhat under-size for a lineman? SLATER SIRAGOSA SMITH CRAIGHEAD MILLER.......until Greene returns?

Our defense will be top 20 again. Overall, our success rides on the QB and the O-line's ability to block for him. That sentence doesn't even make any sense. 2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0 FIFH

Rocky is comfortable with 7-5 so that's good enough for me

We need to shore up that red zone defense. IIRC, our stats are ranked way too low in that area. IMO that's where we need to use a 4-3 defense instead of the 3-3-5, but we can forget about that happening.

So that's why USC won't do a home and home with SDSU.

Our defense was befuddling during the Faulk years. Luggie was a defensive specialist known for his stingy D at Ariz St. We had four or five Aztecs from that defense make it in the NFL. two or three went on to have monster NFL careers. IMO, it was the secondary that was truly awful. We had a secondary populated by 5'7" and 5'8" guys. It was mismatch city every play

I remember the Fresno game at Fresno where Jim Sweeney said it was like the Bulldogs were playing against stationary tackling dummies. We were out of gas and lost miserably.

That sentence doesn't even make any sense. Our ability to win depends on the QB/OL I agree. I'm still pissed that we ended last season with 4 returning starters listed on the OL and now we have two. Very disappointing.

Truly believe the D will carry us early . We have new pieces on the DL & at linebacker . I have my my new favs but I'll wait till fall camp to expound. By the time we get to conference we will be rock solid. isn't it more fun to read about players than what the " sterky-herky" rabble want to puke about?

Have you ever noticed Darnay tripping an SC linebacker during Marshall's long TD run? (at 6:52)
I've watched that play dozens of times and never saw it until recently. Glad the ref didn't see it either.

SLATER SIRAGOSA SMITH CRAIGHEAD MILLER.......until Greene returns? Don't know who "Smith" is but here is how the OL shapes up today -- even though this is supposed to be a thread about the D. LT -- Kwayde Miller -- Coach Schmidt very high on him now that he is healthy. Big shoes to fill at this posit. LG -- Nico Siragusa -- solid last year. Healthy? C -- What a battle this will be. Arthur Flores is a JR. and has not played yet. Wants it but will be pushed by Ryan Krum (TR.-UAB) and Austin Maass, also a JR. with no playing time. Also in the mix in the spring is one good athlete coming over from Defense -- Sergio Phillips, only a SO. I'm kinda hoping Phillips can play G. RG -- Open season with loss of Greene. Can Robert Craighead (SR) , who is undersized comparatively, be the link to fill the spot? RT -- Incumbent is Pearce Slater (SR). I'm wondering how good is JC TR Ryan Pope who is one big body at 6-7, 320.

Very disappointing.Without a doubt, but they are 19-22 year olds & no one has claimed they're members of Mensa. Obvious good decisions don't come easy unfortunately, no matter how much the coaches beat it into their heads.
Hopefully those remaining are feeling the pressure of staying out of trouble & don't do anything stupid to cost their teammates. Replacing those 2 is going to be critical to the teams success, and may cost us a game.
