It would be better if the teams in our conference had their best players staying at their school so they can win more non conference games and statistically help out SDSU when we play (slightly) strong opponents. In answer to you question, I care. I find it interesting to know what happens in our conference.

I think the board is entitled Aztec Sports and Conference Discussions, both apply here. A MWC team that can't win in conference and losses it's leading scorer is an overall issue. Teams need to get better not worse. Both Fresno and Nevada are working hard to be better, like it or not we are in the MWC and lower end schools bring us down.

According to Verbal Commits we did in 2012, They are typically correct, but perhaps you know better than I. We did recruit him, this from an interview: "Name the schools that are recruiting you the hardest. Rashad Muhammad: USC, SDSU, New Mexico, Colorado, SMU, Northwestern, Maryland, Texas A&M and UTEP.... What coaches have impressed you over the phone and in person and why? Rashad Muhammad: Coach Bland from SDSU really impressed me. He told me how I would fit into the system and everything." www.premierball.com/questions-answers-w-2012-rashad-muhammad/www.verbalcommits.com/players/rashad-muhammad

Who cares not worth our whilemto even consider him Here's my point and I'll say it again, we don't want MWC teams to get worse it doesn't help the conference or us. SJSU couldn't win a D-1 game last year and went 0-18 in MW play. That hurts SDSU. Look at UNLV, Fresno, Nevada, Boise, UNM all should improve this year. A better MW is better for SDSU it helps the RPI, it helps recruiting, rankings and ratings. I think it's really short sided to have a WHO CARES attitude about any team in the conference, and any player that we considered. That's my opinion.

Rashad is a good player. im sure SDSU thought about it. but Fisher usually doesn't take transfers from within conference. to think that we are too good for him is baffling. by the time he hits his senior year he'll be a monster. hope he doesnt end up at Boise.

Within-conference transfers almost never happen... either by league policy, formal restrictions placed by school transferred from, or by "gentleman's agreement" among conference coaches.

Yeh he's a lousy player from a terrible program and has no right to be considered as a potential transfer . Here is his box score against the mighty aztec defense: HOME TEAM: SAN JOSE STATE 2-24, 0-14 MW ## Player Name FG-FGA 3 pt FG-FGA FT-FTA OF DE TOT PF TP 00 MUHAMMAD, Rashad..g 8-14 5-8 6-7 1 3 4 2 27
A lousy 27 points on 8-14 from the field, 5-8 from the 3 and 6-7 from the ft line. Can't consider a player who does that as a sophomore against a top 5 nationally ranked defense...

That is a pretty nice line he had there. I believe that was last year when he was a Soph, not Fresh. While he had a great game against us, his 13.9 ppg on the year were because he is a high volume scorer. ESPN shows he shot only 38% to get those 13.9 ppg (maybe bc there was no one else on SJSU worth guarding?), SDSU already has enough guys that could do that. I will say though, unlike ANYONE on our team, at least he can hit his FTs... He's worth taking a look at, but that is probably as far as it goes.

very surprised he did not transfer last year , so he would have more years at another school . Maybe he goes to USC with Bland ?

SJSU is like a chain around the neck of the MW conference, don't think they won a single div 1 basketball game last season. Now they're losing their best player, they're an RPI killer.
