So about 400 seats went out? ~200 new season ticket holders... Anyone have an idea what our waiting list is at?

They could go to season ticket holders, or waiting list people. It should reduce the number a bit on the waiting list but not by all 80.

So much for moving down. Dang! Feel fortunate just to be in the building.

A) I should have read the whole article, and B) I just read the whole article and only 80 open tickets with 7,504 possible renewals would be a 99.something percent renewal rate... Hmm possibly that fuzzy Conservative UT math?

That's a pretty good renewal rate! Especially when there were so many complaints about the team's performance last year. The General Public must feel that their "entertainment dollars" will be well spent money for this upcoming season. Great news for our Aztecs! Here's hoping the Aztecs can meet or exceed the public's expectations.

So much for moving down. Dang! Feel fortunate just to be in the building. I was counting on thinking that there would be a much lower renewal rate because of the price increase. I guess I know where I'll be sitting again this next year.

I'm really glad I got my season tickets a few years ago. Aztec basketball is by far the best entertainment option in town.

At the same time, it doesn't seem like the waiting list is getting much bigger...you'd think after year upon year of high renewal rates that the waiting list would go up dramatically too. Maybe the non-refundable deposit is keeping the numbers down?

The General Public must feel that their "entertainment dollars" will be well spent money for this upcoming season. Great news for our Aztecs! Here's hoping the Aztecs can meet or exceed the public's expectations. Complaints must have come from those who think 27 wins is a disappointment! Seriously, our Aztecs will not always be winning 25-30 games a year. There will eventually be a season or two in which the team finishes 17-14 or 19-13 or whatever. No doubt we will not always be selling out the house. But, unless the program undergoes a near collapse, I'll bet we will still average over 10,000 per game, and more often close to a sell-out. This stands in stark contrast to football, a sport that barely draws (on paper, at least) 50% of attendance capacity. Of course, that comparison is not really fair, since the Q is for football a much bigger venue than Viejas is for basketball. Or, to put it another way, if Viejas seated 18,000, would we be selling out the house on a regular basis? I doubt it, though imagine how much more revenue the school would be bringing in if average attendance were in the 15,000 to 16,000 range? AzWm

AzWm Viejas is one of the best places to watch basketball - the "Q" one of the worst for football.

Anybody know the football season ticket return rate?
Not trying to be a smart ass, I'm simply interested.

If I thought I had a good chance, I'd be on the list. I'm sure I'm not alone. So if Viejas were bigger, maybe it wouldn't be full, but I'm guessing that it would come close.

The bigger a venue the more bad seats are added. If Viejas could add 5,000 prime seats, we would still sell out. But adding a second level, for instance, would require marginal fans to buy bad seats. Not a recipe for sell outs.
