Following an epiphany last evening after talking with some friends and Ute boosters, it really began to make sense regarding the situation in San Diego. Of course there will be strong opposition
to keeping the Chargers in San Diego. This is San Diego. And yes, it wouldn't surprise me if a university that basically does nothing but "enable" a lousy football program would be the recipient
of all the riches Mission Valley can offer. This is San Diego. And it wouldn't surprise me if the city rallied around this college team following the departure of the Chargers. When there ain't
much in the cupboard you take what you can get. This is San Diego. And even if State reaps all these new benefits I seriously doubt the level of Aztec football will change much on the
crap-o-meter. This is San Diego.
Regarding the sports scene, it just simply means San Diego will never be mistaken for Salt Lake City. I'll say it again. San Diego will end up getting what it deserves. And it ain't my problem.
See you at the Sports Arena, that is, unless I'm reminded, once again, this is San Diego. And my friends here in Utah have promised me they won't use San Diego as a sports punch line, at least in my
presence. After all, "we" got Sea World.
That's about it.
