Somebody has to graduate last in their class. They actually graduated, hard to believe? I may have exaggerated their accomplishments.

I've heard similar ridiculousness on the morning show. 2nd rate station with 2nd rate talent. I only listen when 1090 is at commercial break, but won't be doing that anymore.

I listen to Dave & Jeff on occasion. They are complete idiots when it comes to providing information about SDSU and the stadium. I have heard them say in the past that if San Diego built a new stadium our city would get the Super Bowl every 5-6 years. Everyone knows that is not true. This morning was just pathetic. www.1360sports.com/media/podcast-dave-and-jeff-davejeff/51815-dave-jeff-hour-2-26057464/It is no surprise to most here that SDSU has not shown much public support for this stadium and are waiting to see what the best option is for the needs of SDSU. It sounds like the preliminary plans don't include any monetary contribution from SDSU. They said SDSU is "looking for a way out of football; this is one of those things that might explain why they keep a guy like Rocky Long around." With regards to SDSU building their own 35,000-40,000 seat stadium or partnering with an MLS team: they said that was "small time thinking" and that SDSU football is "not worth spending the money to see the product they put on the field." I know this is the Charger home radio station so some of this is to be expected. However, I believe one or both of these radio hosts are SDSU alums. They should be embarrassed. The best option for State football is for the Chargers to stay. It's hard to imagine that during the Aztec glory years of the 60's and 70's the Aztecs actually drew more fans on occasion than the Chargers. Those days are long gone. As usual, State will sit frozen, waiting for the big boys to decide the future of the Chargers in San Diego. Because, essentially that IS their future as well. As one who was incredibly disappointed the university stuck with their decision to level the campus football stadium for a basketball arena, it's hard for me to be too worked up if this mediocre mid-level football program has to scramble for scraps to survive. As a Charger's fan, (and Aztec Alumnus), I'm heartened that groundwork could be laid for a viable stadium initiative that just could be the solution to the stadium issue. www.nbcsandiego.com/news/sports/Chargers-Stadium-Surprise-No-Public-Vote-For-New-Taxes-Needed-304071141.htmlThe Aztecs will then continue to have a coat tail to hang on. (And maybe concession stands opened on the top level).

Hate to burst everyone's bubble but sports talk radio is nothing more than entertainment, not serious journalism. It exists simply to kill an hour why folks like me sit in traffic going to and from the misery that is work. Everyone needs to relax around here, some folks get so worked up.

Hey Sileo, no one cares about "The U" here! I typically don't listen to live sports radio and go with podcasts to avoid those ten minute commercial breaks and unless I'm really desperate and out of podcasts, I will never listen to Sileo or Dave and Jeff.

Somewhat off topic but the most intriguing person I've heard discuss the whole LA/SD stadium issue is Fred Roggin on 980 out of LA. Pretty much every time I tune in he's discussing this topic and he lays out very solid reasons why he thinks Carson is nothing but a smoke screen. I drive around San Diego county a lot for work so there's definitely coverage of his show in San Diego for anyone who might want to tune in.

Funny, I have been listening to podcasts for several years now and always had to explain to people what they were, nice that they are getting some traction nowadays but unfortunately every Tom Dick and Harry has one now. Best way to walk the dog, do yardwork or drive to work is with a podcast.

Because of where I live,(unincorporated area of El Cajon) and how my house is situated I get very poor radio reception, and can only pull in 1360 A.M. I usually only listen to radio while I'm taking a shower so I'm basically forced to listen to one station. The two clowns in the morning slot are for real idiots. This actually what I heard them saying about the San Antonio Spurs after they lost to the Clippers, to paraphrase,"I'm sure glad the Spurs are gone from the playoffs, they are so boring, who wants to watch them pass the ball to everybody on their team until they shoot." "Now we can watch the exciting Clippers and slam dunks all over the place." Saying this after the Spurs put one of the finest expositions of team basketball to win a championship the year before, and have a local player,K.L. as one of their stars.
It is no coincident that these two Charger cheerleaders are ignorant of the facts. The station is owned in part by John Lynch who is in bed with Pappa Doug and the rest of the pro Charger stadium crowd. So their script is to back the Chargers, play fast and loose with the facts and stay away from any meaningful discussions.

Sky's the limit. Download the mighty 1090 app listen live or catch the taped podcast's. Or go out and discover new podcast that you might like (sports, politics etc...) Also regarding radio at your home, if your phone/ipad/device is connected to wifi you won't be using data at your house. Hope this helps!

I called into their show several years ago when Norv Turner was stinking up the joint [this was about 2 years before he was canned]. When I got to my point about how Turner needs to be fired, they hung up on me. There is no real big insight with those two guys on sports.

So could the facility be built so that the upper deck be "covered " to make the bottom area smaller for Aztec crowds until the team ,improves , which is most important and needs the larger facility . If the facility is state of the art then it would be used to help bring in higher quality recruits/players . Key to a better team . Far superior to what BSU , Fresno , even many of the PAC schools have . Yes the group said there would be a separate set of locker rooms for both Chargers and Aztecs . Talk radio is just that talk, no more no less . A true state of the art facility to help the team , is more important issue . Or if they could make it so we could stage other events NCAA F4 , ......

Thanks for all the good advice, unfortunately I don't own a smart phone, the ipad is my wife's and is a hand me down from our son and I don't believe it has wifi capabilities. I'm pretty techno ignorant as is my wife, she won't even mess around with the computer. We are pretty much just catching on to the horseless carriage, and pictures streaming across the air Thanks again for the help.

That station is owned by Clear Channel (or whatever their corporate name is this week). Lynch USED to own 1090, among other stations, but he (and his daughter) got the boot from the majority owners about 7 years ago. He sued, but I don't think he was successful.

Sports talk radio hosts are all so bad. If only random anonymous sports message board posters were able to be heard across airwaves for 4 hours straight. Then you would see real journalism and true entertainment. (Please read above with heavy sarcastic tone)
Face it, we are by and large a sleepy sports city full of transplants and our sports talk radio accurately reflects that.
Are they amazing? No.
Is it way easier to just paint a broad black and white brush and say everyone sucks than actually admit it's not an easy job to talk about sports for 4 hours straight? Yes.
Do I ask myself questions and then immediately answer them for dramatic effect and my own amusement? Yes.
Also, Darren Smith is very very good and I'll fight anyone tooth and nail who claims otherwise. Everyone else is just doing their job the best they know how.
