Its been said this vote cannot wait until the general election in November 2016 so that would leave a special election in late '15 or early '16. Here is what Fabiani has said recently about the stadium's chances if it goes to special election (per Bolt Blitz boltblitz.com/?p=16354):"A special election will not lead to a successful result. The turnout in special elections is always extremely low, and the voters who do turn out in special elections in San Diego are inclined to vote against major public projects such as this one. Our only hope for success at the ballot box would be a high-turnout, general election – and unfortunately the next one of those elections is in November 2016."

Just my thought--it appears that Oakland is more concerned about keeping the A's than they are the Raiders.

What to Watch for in a Chargers Stadium Deal 1. How much public money? 2. Where’s the public money coming from? 3. What kind of public money is it? 4. What’s the city budget on the hook for? 5. How much development? 6. Where’s the private money coming from and who’s getting it? 7. Who’s responsible for the stadium’s upkeep and who gets the money from its events? 8. What’s in the fine print? 9. Are we having a vote? When? 10.What are we giving up by building a stadium? www.voiceofsandiego.org/topics/land-use/what-to-watch-for-in-a-chargers-stadium-deal/

Just my thought--it appears that Oakland is more concerned about keeping the A's than they are the Raiders. Oakland is very concerned about the A's moving down to Santa Clara county near the 49ers. Although the Giants are opposed and claim that Santa Clara is within their sphere of influence or whatever the MLB term is, there is apparently considerable political support for it in Santa Clara. Ultimately the biggest problem all around in Oakland is money. That is, it is not a wealthy area as California cities go plus the owners of the A's and the Raiders are relatively impoverished. If I owned the A's, I would seriously consider moving to Montreal.

Details will likely be provided at 12:30pm as members of the media have already been provided the 42 page report but have been told to keep quiet on the details until then.

Who is responsible for funding shortfall(s) / cost over-runs?For example, if PSLs are forecast to bring in $150mil but only bring in $75mil... who has to pony up the difference, the city or the Chargers?

It's not surprising that Oakland would focus on the A's: 40K seat ballpark that enhances its surroundings -- 81 home games per year along with a chance to host an ALCS and World Series every year Compared to the Raiders: 65K stadium fortress -- 10 home games per year with a chance to host a playoff game every year ... Superbowl have bid requirements and a rotation would see one hosted every 20 years or so (if at all)

No surprise that Charger fan groups are in favor, except for the part where they have to pay more.
"Fan groups generally embraced the proposal on Monday, but there was some concern about the ticket and parking surcharges and the personal seat licenses." U-T article.

I never understood why anyone cares about where public money comes from or what it's used on? The impact to the individual is minimal and the "leaders" will just mis-manage any funds they get so its best to mis-manage the funds on a stadium that will have a residual positive impact for so many whether they think so or not.

The Fabianis are going to laugh at this. Not near enough huge give-aways to the franchise.

The devil is in the details and Fabiani will likely respond negatively to this proposal by the end of business today.
