If I were him I'd bust my arse to get into the rotation this next year 15-20 min a game.
Then be ready to be a starter my senior year when we MOST LIKELY will lose our entire starting front court:
3-Shep 4-Pope 5-Spencer and Chol

Anyone know the status on DA? Wasn't Sunday the deadline? The Real Oracle Out Decision on what? There are only rumors; there's no need for any announcement.
And definitely no timelines.

Oh didn't know that. So what was the deadline this Sunday for? The Real Oracle Out Deadline was for staying in the NBA draft, which I doubt DA declared for. If you pulled out after Sunday I believe you lost your eligibility for next season.
You can transfer at ANY time, assuming you can find an open scholarship. Some have transferred as late as August, as long as they don't start the next scholarship period at their school (e.g. not receiving monies for next quarter/semester/session). Most just choose to make it public, while some reach out behind the scenes. All they have to do is asked to be released from their scholarship, which most schools will not fight (although they may choose to restrict their choices).

The 'ole catch-22:
Point out that repeated questions about whether Allen will be on our team next year are STUPID because there is NO REASON to believe he WON'T but bump the thread, or simply don't respond at all and hope the thread dies?

Would say the D. A. has been smart . Being quiet , watching and listening to what has been happening to the Aztec roster . Zabo has left , believe D.A. 's friend DW is staying to battle for PG . Malik and Winston are back at the forwards . Zylan will be battling for playing time at PF and the 6'9" SF grad transfer Tollefson has selected Arizona . New recruit BJ, C/PF will be here as part time player or red shirt . Recruit N. Narain says IF he becomes a 2015 recruit anywhere he selects he wants to red shirt . So that means The D. A , would most likely be the SF/ SG reserve . Great lock down defender and if the offense is modified so there is an up tempo style , with guys attacking the basket his PT could increase . As of today a roster of 11 , with DA with being in the top 9 or 10 . As mentioned he can still talk with other schools to see if there is a better opportunity but would need to make sure they have a scholarship and he would sit the 2015-16 or stay here and battle for PT .

You beat me to this. I think that's the reason he WON'T transfer. It wouldn't surprise me if some were frustrated with the slowdown offense last year. The way I put it is we had thoroughbreds chomping at the bit, but the race was run by longshots.

If The AZTECS can play more up tempo and transition offense then DA's speed and slashing style with fit in nicely. Hopefully he'll start in the JAM center Aug. 18th working on a shot to add a new dimension to his game. That's my hope!

his only decision should be... get in to the gym and shoot 2500 or 3000 shots a day?

DA has taken about 5 jump shots in his time on the Mesa. Better double it to 6000 shots a day.

I've been thinking the same. I wonder if DA is even considering a transfer at all.

his only decision should be... get in to the gym and shoot 2500 or 3000 shots a day? Dakari needs to learn to defend better. His 5.9 fouls per 40 minutes is something that will reduce his time on the floor. He needs to take the time necessary to learn to defend better with his hands. They need to be active off his man and to attack the ball only at times when the correct situation arises. You can't force a turnover because you want to. That leads to fouls and not turnovers.

Usually good D , means good footwork being in the correct position to make a play , not reach . As do a majority of the guys. Yes he also has to learn not to hand check . He also drew fouls because he had to cover the other teams best shooting guard or even small forward . Aztec coaches were working with Chol and Spencer , about their footwork .

I hate to say this about one of our Aztecs, and DA is one of my favorite players, but this was a poor recruiting read by Fish and team. DA and DW are good guys who give great effort, but for DA to be rated as highly as he was, he has not shown very much in terms of top level skills.
Now maybe he is a guy that needs significant minutes to really show what he can do. There are guys who cannot perform well in short amounts of floor time. But the bottom line, the coaches should have realized that and known he wasn't seeing much of the floor for a while.
DA is a great defender, who fouls unnecessarily way too much. On offense, he is a mess that needs fixing, probably beyond what he will get here. He is usually going WAY too fast. He seems to be always on the verge of falling down when driving and he is way too anxious to shoot when he is near the basket. He needs to slow down, head fake, vary his speed in his court movement, etc. He just has very little subtlety to his game. Better he transfer and get some big minutes so that he can improve.
