Ok, the second positive thing, I think the MWC v MVC face off can be a OOC win for a few top teams in both leagues.

I am impressed with the aspiration of the Tourney, not as impressed with Global Sports Managment; purely hope that we can pull in 8 top teams at the get go. Is there a TV partner? Did I miss that in the article.

Did I miss that in the article. The MWC should try to get Wyoming, UTU, BSU or CSU to play there. Even if they get their asses kicked it'll help OUR RPI. None of them can get decent teams willing to play at their house. We can always schedule a decent preseason tourney elsewhere.

Yeah Mon the Offshore Invitational sounds good. Except that Craig Thompson is evidently involved. All the Oracles, real, fake, and otherwise must be holding their collective breath. C'mon the law of averages says Craig has to get one right.....I hope.

Would be nice if there was a note for all MW schools/MBB coaches , to produce a solid OOC schedule . NOW for 2015 . This should have been a priority , while all the coaches were at MM coaches meetings.

I like the MVC Challenge. My pipedream is a MWC - Pac 12 challenge. But, seeing the Pac-12 will never go slumming with us, that will never happen unless the evil empire (ESPN tells them to.

All about the TV partner and the field they can attract. A little nervous it is starting in 2017. Seems far off but if most major schools are like us...2017 is already booked. Our next three preseason tournaments have been booked for quite a while already (not telling...please don't ask). Hoping for the best on this. Would love a great reason for a first trip there. Would love for it to become another Battle 4 Antlantis. The Great Alaska Shootout used to be a big deal...now it would be embarrassing for a "decent" program to be in it.

Over scheduling by marginal teams is a mistake. Having a good SOS while losing most of your games is a negative for the conference.

Every schedule should be built depending on your talent and returning experience. if you have a young team scheduling tough early OOC games can kill confidence and torpedo your season. If you don't have proven talent you want them to win as much as possible to build confidence.

Teams that want any consideration to play in MM or maybe even the NIT , should have a decent OOC schedule . CSU did not last year and it cost them . No MM invite . Even though they were undefeated in their OOC . Wyoming also had a good OOC record but if it had not won the MW T , it was not going to get an at large bid for MM . UNLV was given credit for its win over Arizona . IMO most of the group selecting MM , expect decent to good teams to at least to try to schedule some decent OOC teams . They know if San Jose , or AFA , .... come out of the OOC with a 11-2 record or something similar that they scheduled cup cake teams at home . They see the MW as a poor conference until they start winning more games in MM and beat some decent teams in OOC . So I do think teams in the MW who see their team playing in MM , or even NIT to put together a quality OOC schedule . If not then they send a message to their team , other teams in our conference and the group selecting for MM . I think those doing the selecting are wiser and see right through a cup cake OOC . Prime example CSU .
