It means that other schools have continued to woo him. Looks like Oregon is his new girlfriend. He's 17, he's supposed to be a little flakey. Would be sorry to see him go but have all the faith in our staff that we'll love the guy they'll sign in his place. He may eventually end up back with us like JJ and DPIII.

What aren't you sure about? It means he is not completely sold on us. He understands that it is a big decision, and feels like it is best to look at various opportunities, and weight them. It means that some other schools have caught his interest. Smart move on his part.

Bums me out. Zabo walks, Smith decommits. Would like to see a positive head line in the near future.

I hope he doesn't commit elsewhere until he sees how we play in the OOC games later this year. The 2015/16 team will be way different than the 2014/15 version, which basically went through the glue guy and AQ. They weren't the fastest guys around. It'll be more up tempo and I think that's what he likes.

If we land him it'll be about selling him on the program not seeing anything.

Let him make up his mind. Hope he decides to still choose SDSU and become an Aztec For Life! That being said, I want guys coming in to have 100% commitment to SDSU Academics and the SDSU Men's Basketball Program. I would rather him waiver now and not 1-2 years in.

This could be connected to the Aztec's abortion of an offense; any kid watching the clown posse try and put the ball in the hoop during that period must have thought, 'Oh, hell no, there ain't no way I want to play with these jokers'.
He's likely gone. The point about tweeting on Oregon's tourney win the same day the Aztecs beat St. John's with nary a word about the team he just committed to is your writing on the wall. That speaks VOLUMES.
He's a recruitment cheater. Move on.

If Altman is on him and he gets him to visit the duck pond, it could be over. Ducks have great facilities and Nike. It could rough getting into a "sneaker" war!

I have absolutely NO doubt that Fish and staff will handle this situation with ultimate class because that is how they are, and, they would still like young Mr. Smith to become an Aztec.
Unfortunately, some of the posters on this site do not possess the maturity, vision and class of Fish & staff. Allow the lad to make his own life decision without all the nasty snarky crass comments. The bitter comments made to a 17 year old just make his decision to reconsider look smarter. He may not want to be around such individuals for the next four years.
If you don't have any class to show, please at least try to fake it for the potential future Aztecs.

You know, it's not a bad thing our recruits are highly-coveted.
It would be a great get for Smith to come. But, if he doesn't, Fish and co will get some guys.

But we got number #1 in teams with the best sneakers. Remember that one thread where we beat teams like N. Carolina and Oregon! Recruits know what kicks all on our team's feet!

This is why I only take passing notice of these guys until they're actually on campus. Until then, you're talking about 17 year olds and all the unpredictability that they entail.

It is official - he has de-committed www.utsandiego.com/news/2015/apr/17/sdsu-basketball-keith-smith-statement/I would say it is a done deal that he doesn't come here... Good news is that may have opened up a spot for Brendan Bailey. Bailey is currently #64 on Rivals top 150 while Smith is #68. If we can get Bailey to replace Smith, add Narian (#63) and Cage (#39) it would still be a huge recruiting class.
