The sky is the limit for the Aztecs this season but the offensive will be the reason it either wins or lose the conference. The defense will be fine, Rocky Long's defense will always be ready to play. The defense will play its game and the offense will do enough to win 9 games and win the division.

I expect to win the West; beat at least one of either Cal or Penn State; win 10 games; go to a bowl game and win it.
Those are the expectations. No more excuses.

So we will win 9 games according to this publication. That means we will only lose two games ( Penn St and CAL) since the USD game doesnt count. I think we have a good opportunity to showcase what we have, but QB and secondary play will be pivotal. I think our conference schedule is similar to the last two years. We lose one good game with BSU for two potential good games with CSU and USU, and the OOC is good. I am eager to see how the coaching changes will play out. I say at least 7 wins (or 6) even if we have growing pains with coaching and new QB.

FRESNO STATE- Win 2
Hawaii- Win 3
San Jose State- Win 4
UTAH STATE- Loss
Colorado State- Win 5

And I give us the one game handicap so one of our wins can be a loss.

I could be wrong, but the USD win (yes, I'm ass-u-ming) still counts as a "win" right? It just doesn't help us in the effort to get the number of D-1 wins needed to earn a bowl bid, correct? Also Christian Heyward is destined to go off on his old teammates and get 6 sacks in the "Cal-stinkin-Berkeley" game, so you can count that as a win as well.  |

As Rocky said in January . If we have good QB play , we will be a good team . Average QB and we will have an average team . so as with most teams . You go as far as your QB can take you . We need for at least one if not two of the QB's to shine . Want any chance to beat a quality team , we need a quality QB .
Interesting , they predicted good years from our Mountain opponents USU , Slow Pokes , CSU ( but they also have a new QB and Coach ) . We do get 2 of them at home .so maybe better home games then we thought.

Win 9 Lose 3 and win a bowl game! I would be ok with that so long as we win either Cal or Penn State and win the MWC. But that would put us at 10-3 with the Win at the Q for the MWC Championship. |

The real question is will the Aztecs beat Fresno? The Bulldogs are going to eat their own dog$#!+ this year. Should have beat them last year. We are going to kill them this year. |
