OOC Confirmed 1. Illinois State at Viejas 2. Grand Canyon 3. USD at Petco Park 4. Kansas at Viejas 5. Utah away 6. CSLB away LV Invitational (2) games in LV - Cal or West Virginia and/or Richmond - TBD (2) campus games prior to the tourney - TBD (Hawai'i?)
Three games remain and I assume we play an NAIA local; St Kate's, SDCC or Pt. Loma. Any other insights?
Then we hit the 18 MWC games and tourney at Thomas & Mack.
The RPI looks positive to start!

Believe we play a "controlled scrimmage " no public attendance ,have played Stanford the last two years, so this year maybe at Stanford? . then an X game here . for the LV Tournament , even though 4 games , do they allow Aztecs to schedule another OOC if we choose to . Would guess the coaches would have been working on scheduling other OOC games while they are at MM . They have been out scouting lately .

Just making sure... Is the "CSLB" Long Beach State? If so, am pretty happy about that. I like "do-able" roadies for our fans in the So Cal area. Would like to see a game at UCI at some point.

I'm confused about the location of game #3. However, I guess it's a good opportunity to finally have every basketball player throw out a first pitch.

I know there was a lot of speculation about Cal landing Rabb and Swanigan... Swanigan just committed to Mich St, so that won't be happening. Rabb still could, but I suspect he was excited to go to Cal WITH Swanigan, so now that Swanigan is going to Mich St, I think Arizona might have the edge
So Cal might not be as big of a test as we thought

Can't wait to see some Sports center top 10 with Pope & Cheatham dunking @ Petco!
And also the chance for non season ticket holder friends to see a game.

Swanigan was the first domino; Rabb will be the 2nd, and I'd assume MT would be the 3rd domino to fall, as he could go to UA if Rabb goes to Cal. If Rabb to UA, then I think that eliminates them from contention for him. Is Cal on his radar? I forget?
NN might even make his decision before MT?
Going to be an interesting week.

Has December 22nd been confirmed for Kansas? I believe someone previously mentioned that this date was sent out in season ticket renewal packages.
Hoping to book my hotel room way in advance.

Can't believe they were able to talk Kansas into a home and home, going to be exciting!

I sure hope not...that's a Tuesday. I've seen others mention early January. I think it will/should be January 2/3 or 9/10. I think it will be like last time and CBS will show it right after their NFL playoff game. CBS originally set this up...can't see them wasting it on Tuesday night (CBS Sports Network). Fingers crossed.

They may want to play 2 exhibition games at Viejas. The Aztec set up the controlled scrimmages because they had very early tough games scheduled. Having two exhibition games gives them an extra home game that they may need to offset the Petco Park game. Although their tournament this year is only two games away from home. Petco game gives them a 3rd neutral site game - same as last year.

USD game would not be a home game even if we did not play at Petco Park. Lil sisters were smoked at our house this year. So should not matter about season ticket holders.

Don't think Tuesday is an issue. It's during a holiday week, with many people being off work & during prime time would get a lot of eyeballs nationally. The Utah game was during a weekDAY.
Can't see how it'd be in early January when conference games have started, especially over the weekend when most teams are scheduled. Of course, anything could happen.

We played them on a Sunday (1-8) last time after opening the conference at CSU on Wednesday (1-4). Anything is doable for network tv exposure. You are right about our packages saying 12-22 but I believe I've seen Zeiglar write twice about "early January" since then so anything is possible.

Fowler/ Padres are paying the Aztecs a very decent amount to play the USD game - so definitely a "money game " . Believe the coaches appreciate the controlled scrimmage against a quality team that does not count in the score book , but great teachable game . Still get the other X game . Also many have learned (ask CSU ) that as many decent games in OOC really helps .

The Beach is a great little roadie. I went on the Aztec bus last time. A good time was had by all. I believe about 4 or 5 busloads of fans went. It was the start of the 34-3 season. We had an Aztec pre-game party at a local sports bar, where we watched the Aztecs fball team almost upset the undefeated and Top 10-ranked TCU Toads. Then onto the Pyramid. Great place to watch a game. Really nice venue. Seats about 6k. I'm in if that package is offered again.
