Even if it is not behind a paywall, you should still limit the text you copy/paste & *always* provide a link. It's just good practice.

Sticking on topic with stuff behind a pay site wall, anybody have a chance to read Josh Gershon's report on which 3 schools are recruiting Jaylen Hands the hardest? I'm guessing 'Zona, UCLA, and hopefully us.....

Everything on Aztec Mesa is free, not the same at rivals (or scout), providing a little snipbit is fine but copying big paragraphs word for word of money content is not So if I were to directly comment on a Rivals or Scout article on the actual Rivals or Scout site (or from Sports Illustrated or ESPN for that matter)...and someone cut and pasted my comments from that site onto a message board...would I still have those copyright protections based on the original content I'm providing?...do I give up my copyright privileges when I choose to post my unsolicited comments here at AM or on any other website that I choose to comment on? Does that mean only certain websites have copyright protection while other websites do not?... Are there IP attorneys out there who can answer this question factually? (btw...unlike many of my posts...I'm truly not trying to be a smart-ass here...but I really want to know what the law is from someone who might actually know the law...not an opinion from someone who just thinks that they might know what the answers might be (not slamming fisherville...because he could actually be an IP attorney)...PM if you know the answers to my questions and would rather not discuss it publicly).

I'm perfectly good with Hemsley for the next 4 years, Hands can go enjoy his time in that half full gym and snooty chicks.

Noticed that ESPN reported the SDSU, UCLA & Arizona are recruiting 2017 Brandon McCoy the hardest, with interest also coming from Kansas & Kentucky.

You own your own content unless you are on a site that expressly states that all contributions become the property of the site. They'd have trouble defending that and most merely state that they can use it for their own purposes. (FYI, I deal in IP issues professionally in my profession and work closely with the attorneys on our staff. You may recall my comments on unlicensed T-Shirt threads.)

...just pull the plug if its so dangerous, IP issues are so generational and fear based, most of us appreciate information. Welcome to the 20th century, the age of information and in your case the great digital divide.
i live in a world of cease and desist...I don't think we're monetizing content by lifting a couple of quotes, are we?

You lifted entire content, not a couple quotes. IP issues aren't generational or fear based, they are the fastest growing sector in law enforcement for a reason. Oh, and it's the 21st century.

Hands will have a great seat to watch Lonzo Ball in action. I agree, on his visits he will have great seats. Ball is 2016 and most likely 1 and done, hands is 2017.

Unless you're an IP attorney, or otherwise well versed in IP law, I don't think you're qualified to make that statement as anything beyond pure personal opinion. Against which I'm pretty sure a lawyer would disagree.
