SDSU has landed three of the last six, with two straight from high school. I can't believe I'd ever see the day.
Plus, by all accounts we could've had Ryan Anderson on the bounce back, but Fish chose to give AQ the scholie instead.

I searched the L.A. Times and it said in 1994 SDSU signed a forward named Rickenbacker from Manual Arts High. I don't remember him was he an AZTEC??
From the pages of the 1994 L.A. Times Sports:
Other players to receive Division I scholarships are: Crenshaw guard Tommie Davis (Houston), Crenshaw forward Tremaine Fowlkes (California), Fremont guard Calvin Patterson (Loyola Marymount), Manual Arts forward David Rickenbacker (San Diego State) and Washington forward Dayron Harris (Cal State Long

Pretty incredible Stanley Johnson won it twice in a row. It's interesting how highly rated overall some of those recruits were and how low some were rated, yet they won the same award

Thanks. I tried digging up this list a couple of days ago after some confusion between L.A. Times POY and L.A. City POY. Couldn't find squat. You'd think the L.A. Times would have some sort of list posted, but no.

The only thing you did wrong was spell Jeremy Hemsley's name incorrectly.

Jeremy Hemsley may have the best overall pure basketball skills out of high school of the three! JMO!

1993 winner was James "Gumby" Gray that played for Tark at Fresno State. He was on the up and coming Westchester basketball team that had a kid by the name of Jason Sanders who ended up playing for SDSU.

Something about Baron Davis. The Oracle witnessed with his own eyes Baron Davis dunking with two hands from the Free Throw Line. For a guard, he not only had crazy athleticism, but had very long arms as well.

we needed AQ this year and I am glad that Fish kept him on Scholarship, but boy it would have been nice to have Ryan Anderson at PF at 6'9 he has an inside and outside game and will be playing for Zona.
looking forward to see Hemsley, not sure we need that 5th year PG?

Hemsley's running mate Bryce Peters got another offer today. "2016 Damien (CA) G Bryce Peters has received an offer from San Jose State." We could see him playing in the MWC at San Jose or Wyo, ESPN rates him a 3-star player.

Geez, I remember when we couldn't even get a Union-Tribune POY. I still remember the interview with Chase Budinger and Scott & BR. When discussing his recruiting, Scott asked him if he'd ever considered giving SDSU a look. Chase snorted, chuckled and replied, "No. Not at all."
