According to VUHoops. (Villanova Basketball) www.vuhoops.com/2015/4/8/8371233/who-wants-to-go-to-las-vegas-brace-yourself-because-big-east-tv"....F or 2015, however, the fields are already set for the Orleans Arena, with teams participating including: California, West Virginia, SDSU, Richmond, SMU, Colorado, Penn State and Kent State. In the future, both fields could be "spruced up" by participation from Big East teams that are known for their basketball branding...."Bottom line, I assume the teams are correct. SDSU (27 wins), UWVa (25 wins), SMU (27 wins) were 2015 NCAA tournament teams. Richmond (21 wins), Kent St (23 wins)are top conference programs, while; Cal, Colorado and Penn State are middle of the pack in big conferences. It would be a better field if FS1 influenced a Big East school to play in 2015.

Richmond is the tesm in. The others are in a different tournament. Thanks for clarifying (unfortunately). If that'd been the field - WOW.

So the host teams would be SDSU, Richmond, West Virginia and Cal. Not bad. That would lead to first round home game (maybe against Hawaii), then we would pay two out of three out of Richmond, WV and Cal in Las Vegas.

If Cal gets their recruits, they are going to be a great squad. Maybe even PAC12 title frontrunner.

Here's another release. static.foxsports.com/content/fscom/binary/2015/03/16/sbj_vegas1426509604227.pdfSo it looks like we will play Hawaii + one more team at Viejas and then be in a 4 team tournament with Cal, Richmond, and WVU. My guess is they put us and Cal on opposite ends of the bracket as most fans will be from these two schools and they'll want to maximize the crowd for the championship game. --------------- SMU, Colorado, Penn State and Kent State are in the Las Vegas Classic which will be played in December and is a separate tournament. with a similar format.

Geez.

Geez. Yea, they could be loaded. Don't forget Bird, who's probably the most talented of the 3, plus a couple young & talented bigs (Okorah). They are/were also a finalist for another top 5 recruit, but sounds like he's going elsewhere. Haven't looked lately.
I'm wondering what's keeping Rabb from committing? He's been a Cal lean for a long time now? I'd think he has all the info he needs re: Arizona, unless he's waiting on Stanley Johnson to make it official? And if he is, if he's truly a Cal lean why would that matter unless he'd switch to UA if more go pro? Once 1 domino falls, they'll all fall.
Plus, neither of these guys are going to sign a LOI; they're going to leave their options open to change their mind if something happens between now & June. The wave of the future.
PS. Gotta give it to Cal. Operating w/o a permanent AD, yet football program may be most improved P5 school in the country next year, and BBall looking the same.

So we play Hawaii and another "visiting school" at Viejas as part of our season ticket games then head to Las Vegas . They could have a CAL SDSU game , knowing that would draw and then very good bet with one of the two teams in the finals ,you will have a good crowd . That New Orleans BB facility does not hold as many seats as others in Vegas.
There are also rumors out there that the remaining top 11 players are making sure who else is leaving early for the draft and who is staying . Kentucky now has openings ( do have 2 of the top 15 players) do get a lot of guys heading to the NBA , Duke could have more openings , Arizona - their 7 FT center is staying but could lose another forward- so need forwards, they are adding 4 top recruits from the top 30 . So there still could be a lot of guys waiting to decide where they are going to go for school.

Getting CAL early in the season before their Freshman figure things out more would be good. As their team evolved and improved, their resume' would improve also which would add an even higher quality OOC team.

I think Conzo's going to be one happy dude (or one shocked one). Gives him a nice pipeline to the Soldiers has well, which could pay off. I thought he underachieved with that squad this year, but could just be the change in staff, etc.
Hadn't heard Brown was a UCLA lean - I thought he was SEC leaning, but good to see the West pulling in more talent.
PS. Really curious to see how they'd seed the Vegas tourney. Historically, you'd think WV would be #1, us #2, Cal #3 & Richmond #4, so we'd have Cal & (in theory) WV. That would be a GIANT boost to the RPI, as I think both will be top 30 RPI (if not much higher). Add in Kansas...and some good top 75's-125's (e.g. Hawaii, etc.). Nice.

Agree, except they still have Mathews, Wallace, Bird & Singer in the backcourt who will be VERY experienced, so will be a tough out no matter what.

If WS does not come back , we could have SS as a starter and 4 new starters that could need time to get it all together. playing with either Freshman , Sophomores PG's . Having to replace a lot of scoring , rebounding and other then SS need quality defenders .
So it very easily could be WVU, CAL , SDSU , Richmond - we may have to play CAL - and not be the favorite .

It doesn't look like West Virgina lost much either and they made the sweet 16.
