Colorado State University System completes sale of $239 million in bonds for new 40,000 seat on campus football stadium for the Rams. Not only is SDSU the only team to share an NFL stadium in the MWC it is the only school that doesn't have its own on campus stadium. www.news.colostate.edu/release.aspx?id=7599

SDSU is also the only team (except for SJSU) where the real estate is ultra expensive. if you wanna build a stadium in Wyoming it cost about $40k. In San Diego it will cost $500k+++ up to $2Billion.
SDSU is fine with what they have. LETS FILL UP THE Q!!!!!!!! We HAVE done it before. Win and we they will come. CASE IN POINT: every year at the SKY SHOW.

Have you been to any of the MWC football "on campus" stadiums? Not much to brag about...even against our Krusty Qualcomm.
This CSU new stadium looks nice. But in comparison to the rest of big time college football i doubt it is a player. But definitely will be the best in conference. Kudos to them for stepping up their game.

Good point Vision, however not having an On Campus Stadium with all of the benefits that go with that scenario, continues to impact our chances to move to a Big 5 conference.
Chargers need to "S..t" or get off the pot" before anything relating to a stadium for Aztec FB will take place.

So can you show how incredible the facility is at FDU . B12 would not want a cozy facility . To get quality recruits need a state of the art facility .

Sorry, but where's FDU?
This stadium will be a boon for their recruiting. Who wouldn't want to play in a brand new stadium. Good for CSU.

SDSU is fine with what they have. LETS FILL UP THE Q!!!!!!!! We HAVE done it before. Win and we they will come. CASE IN POINT: every year at the SKY SHOW. SDSU is far from fine with what they have. I would describe it as barely adequate. Qualcomm Stadium is far from the ideal setting we would like for Aztec football, it is adequate for us to retain our Division I status and that's about it. The negative factors for SDSU: A. The seating size of the stadium (72,000) is too large for the Aztecs’ average crowd size and dampens the desired atmosphere for Aztecs games. Ideally, the Aztecs would welcome a football-only stadium, which seats 45,000. B. Because of the priorities enjoyed by the Chargers, the Aztecs are not able to personalize the field or sell significant stadium signage around the field. This equates to a significant lost revenue opportunity for the Aztecs. C. The Aztecs have no permanent locker room in the stadium, thus creating a sterile environment for the team on game days. D. The Aztecs have limited skybox availability in the stadium and are not able to sell suites to generate additional badly needed revenue. The current lease with the city allows SDSU to use certain skyboxes for entertainment purposes only. E. The main ticket office and box office for the Aztecs have no real presence at the stadium. F. There is no recruiting lounge to host prospective athletes and their families. G. There is no Aztec Club lounge area available to host Aztec Club donors and special events. If sharing a stadium with the Chargers is our only option (God I hope not!), the Pittsburgh model should be considered where both the University of Pittsburgh and the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers have been mutually accommodated in the same facility. However, SDSU must agressively advocate for its football program to include the following... A. The Aztecs need the ability to sell suites for home games and have access to better corporate box locations. B. The Aztecs need their own dedicated locker room. C. The Aztecs must be able to personalize the field for home games with appropriate Aztec colors, designs & signage that declares the field the “home of the Aztecs” for that evening. D. The Aztecs must be able to sell corporate signage around the stadium for its games. E. The box office location and space must be significantly enhanced. F. The Aztecs need storage areas for game day items. G. The stadium needs more and improved restrooms. H. A recruiting lounge must be included in the design. I. An Aztec Club lounge must be included in the design. Anything less than what is listed will be unacceptable.

From the stands, you may not understand the significance of that, but it is a big one.

Most programs we recruit against have upgraded if not added new Football Operations Buildings, which is a huge feather in the cap during the recruiting process.
We have a LONG ways to go to be competitive from a facilities standpoint.

Q is not great and we could really use a new on campus stadium, but we are not disadvantaged vs the MWC.

Q is not great and we could really use a new on campus stadium, but we are not disadvantaged vs the MWC. Never said it was great, or even more than ok. But it is better than ours. I'd take every mwc stadium over ours except for Hawaii and CSU's old one. I'd even take sjsu over ours because it is small and simple. It fits them. it is on campus. Is it new, heck of course not. it is probably the oldest one in conference. But, it does the job. Nevada's far far superior than ours. Again, just like with sjsu, it fits them. It fits MWC teams. They have nice facilities surrounding it and it is on campus. The same can be said about New Mexico. And btw, I am not talking about these from the stands. I've been on the fields, in the visitors locker rooms, home lockerooms, practice facilities, etc. We are at the bottom. And ya, I agree with you, we are not at as big of a disadvantage with the rest of the conference with a stadium. At least not yet. But regardless, in terms of stadiums and facilities, we are near the bottom of the conference.

IMO, Baylor has the ideal stadium size and amenities for today's college football.
