Lots of things can happen in 2 years but I don't see Bailey the kind to change his commitment unless something drastic changes like a complete coaching turnover. He will know that in 2018 there is a chance that Fisher won't be at SDSU and Dutcher will be the HC, it seems he has prioritized his relationships with coaches rather than going after the biggest school programs. As he has cut both AZ and UConn.

San Diego State: "I took an official there and it was a beautiful place, it's a beautiful arena and I have a great relationship with coach (Brian) Dutcher and coach (Steve) Fisher. I like how they run up and down and I feel like I fit into the way they run. They haven't had as many shooters and I feel I could come in and provide that."

Sure would be nice if there was a way to get him here for an "unofficial' visit , after the JAM Center is a reality . Believe his first visit here last Spring was an official . We are in his final 5 , but what is most important is getting the signature during NLI . B. B could be a very valuable addition . Also seems there has been a very good transition going on where every one knows Dutcher is going to be the next head coach and not much concern among the recruits . Sidebar , will be the Aztecs start showing a little more up tempo style offense to attract guys who enjoy scoring as well as playing D ? JH at PG could provide that spark , plus if the coaches let Malik, Winston ,... run and attack the basket.

Bailey is going to stay in Utah, either BYU or the PAC. Guess I need to take this back. Aztec 4 Life.

Update on mix tapes a must watch, mission or not. It would be great to have this kid on the Mesa. He looks taller then his 6'7" listing.

So if he accepts a scholarship from a school does it count towards the allotment for 2016 or ?
Some ratings have him 6 '8 ' or taller .

If he goes on a mission he wouldn't be in school and thus not on scholarship, so definitely doesn't count. He's just a layaway plan when it comes to any LOI - it's worthless.

So what date is in home for Bailey? Leaf in home 9/14 . D. Melton (SG) here for a visit 9/18 . Any in home with Cage or Stanback , key need for 2016 is a guy or two that want to play the 5 .
Has Bailey confirmed he will be 2018 ? Why if you are a recruit would you make selection of school now , then go on a mission , a lot can change in the two years you are gone with a team and your abilities .

I kind of thought Bailey was a done deal moving to 2018. I think we all agree we need a big (Cage or Stanback) and a guard (Mathews, Cyrus, Melton etc.) with our 2 spots left for this class, but if got we Bailey and Cage, that would be HUGE.

I think most do agree Bailey is a done deal to 2018, but he's still going to commit somewhere before he goes on his mission. This is basically a "layaway" plan, and wouldn't count against our scholarships next year if he does commit. That said, we'd have to re-recruit him all over again in 2 years, but most of the guys who go on missions do tend to stay with their original schools.
Who knows, he may end up being like Jackson who was going to go on a mission but decided not to & committed to Duke & will play next year ('16/17) instead. If Bailey does that great, but if not just having his LOI would be great (yet meaningless) & we'd still need to get a Mathews/Melton...
I think Bailey is an extra special recruit in that a) he looks good on your list of signings which builds momentum & is favorable among other recruits; b) he gets committed to your school & you can build a solid relationship with him this year; c) he doesn't count against your scholarships for '16/'17, and d) he has 2 years to develop maturity on the court, and comes in as a really mature FR in '18/'19 recruit... Zero downside...

Oh, didn't realize he'd still commit now, thought he would just kind of re-do recruitment in 2 years. Interesting. Still a good get for 2018 then.

Aztecs with an in-home with Bailey, lets go two for two! Gonzaga follows us. Are Gonazaga and SDSU the top contenders for Bailey? Who else is in the mix? ASU still in it?

I don't know if there is a more current, update but a month ago he named his final 5...SDSU, Gonzaga, Michigan, Utah and Marquette. He plans to make a fall decision.

Latest from Scout.com. Here are some selected statements about his visit to Michigan. It was awesome,” Bailey said regarding his trip to the Great Lake State. “I got to spend a lot of time with the players, I saw all of the facilities, and got to know the coaching staff really good. We went to the Michigan/BYU football game. It was just really cool to get to know the coaching staff a little better and meet with the players. I was with Kam Chatman a lot, the big foreign kid named Mo, and the kid they got from the D-III school, Duncan (Robinson). I was with the whole team, but those are the guys I was around the most.” “We sat down in his (Coach Beilein) office and he showed video of his team and he showed me where I would fit in,” Bailey recalled. “I liked what I saw because they run a lot and they try to get the quickest best shot they can find. That was good to see. And I think I fit really good into how they run their offense. I can really stretch the floor with my shooting ability. That’s what I’m known for… outside shooting. But I also like to run… to get up and down the floor… to beat my defender down the floor and get a lot of fast break buckets.” “I didn’t know how big of a university it was,” said Bailey. “I knew that all of their athletics were (among the best) in the country, but I didn’t know the academic side of the school was also (amongst) the top in the country. So it was cool to see both sides of the university. “(What stood out the most) was probably the atmosphere… just how involved everybody is with the school and the athletics. When I went to the football game I was with the players and we couldn’t take three steps without someone asking to take pictures with the players. I thought that was really cool just how much they’re involved with the whole school and the community. So I thought the atmosphere was really good also.” “I’m not going to take too much time after that visit to make a decision, but I’m going to have to put a lot of thought into it because it’s really a big decision,” said Bailey. “I’ll probably sit down, talk it over with my family, and just decide where I think will be the best fit for me is.” www.scout.com/college/michigan/story/1596715-u-m-makes-strong-impression-on-bailey-pt-1#.Vhf2e8uWgaw.twitter
