Do not know if it is strictly one way, but in that same Rivals article it says Fisher was there watching Narain's team ,plus Bailey and Jackson, who play on Dream Vision . Also on Jackson's profile with Rivals it lists SDSU as a school with offer , that was not there in June . Do not know if he has us on His list . As we have mentioned , usually August is the month recruits start to set up where they will visit during full recruiting time September - Nov 8 . Early signing week is Nov 11-18 .

Add Michigan to the list of Bailey suitors.

Anyone knows how the scholarships work for guys who go on missions? Would he commit with his class or sign 2 years later? You have to recruit them all over again since they can go anywhere after their mission so getting the first commit is not all that big a deal.

Given the interest in him and his rising summer stock, I don't see him doing a LDS mission. His father Thurl converted when he retired. If Brendan wants to play pro ball, I think he will reconsider taking two years off.
I hear the same rationale for his HS team mate Frank Jackson. I don't think the NBA will wait for the LDS.

Believe you could mean Frank Jackson - 5* guard from the UT area . As with all the guys they have another weekend of evaluations coming up this Wednesday through Sunday . Vegas has a few of the events , so numerous recruits should be in attendance and coaches . Then in August they start setting up visits for the fall. See what recruits want to visit what schools . Decisions on if they want to switch HS's , select a college or in these cases if they want to go on a mission . As you say if you are a recruit that relies on your athletic ability and see NBA as your future going on a mission may not be the best path , but each guy is different.

According to Rivals.com 7/17, wouldn't it be great to land both Narain and Bailey away from Gonzaga? Awesome! "The four-star, 61st-ranked small forward from Utah says that Gonzaga and San Diego State are among those most interested, while Arizona, Utah, Connecticut and Marquette are keeping involved, too. They've all offered, he said. "I'm going to start cutting my list down here pretty soon," Bailey said. Bailey, the son of former NBA player Thurl Bailey, said he plans to schedule an official visit to Gonzaga and has already taken officials to San Diego State and Connecticut. He's a former Arizona State commitment." - See more at: rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1783911&PT=4&PR=2#sthash.NDTwIb8z.dpuf

Update from NBC Sports today.
Since then the 6-foot-7 four-star small forward has been contacted by a number of programs, including Michigan, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Utah and Marquette (former ASU assistant Stan Johnson is now on the Marquette coaching staff). According to Bailey, with the exception of Michigan each of those schools has offered him a scholarship. He also noted that Arizona State remains involved, and with his sister being a member of the volleyball team there’s the family angle to consider as well.
“Somewhere where I fit in with the people and the environment,” Bailey said when asked what will factor into his college decision.”It doesn’t necessarily have to be close to home. The relationships I have with the coaches and players are very important.”
People, environment and relationship to coaches, are the hallmark of Steve Fisher recruits. Cross your fingers.

Bailey is basically saying he is open to see where he sees the best fit for him . Aren't most programs considered great staff , great environment and players get along . Arizona, Utah ..... Fisher has said ,when players come to visit , recruits ask the current players , what it is it really like playing for the staff and at that school. Aztecs players ma add hope you like to play D.Parents check out the items they see as important . Good recruiting by most staffs try to find out who are the most important people in the recruit's life when they get down to making their college decision . Is it AAU coach , mentor , family or Also expect questions . Aztecs landed J. Davis with visit to his mother, Zylan they had a power point showing him his role on the court . JH the need for PG to run the offese ... Bailey has said he is Not in any hurry to make a decision . Do think it will be important to get a recruit on campus to show them what an average day is going to be for them at a school , do not know if Bailey's visit before was official or unofficial ? Also a completed actual JAM Center should help in recruiting .

Dutcher would have to sign off on Bailey since Bailey will be won't be here until 2018. That's a good building block to grow from as this current roster will all be gone by then.

Typically they go on their mission after their freshman year, right?

sure seem as though Bailey has been playing the AAU circuit to see what kind of interest there is for him . There are numerous quality offes . So with the way he has been chatting , he could be taking his visits and make a decision on a college at the early signing time . If he takes them and does not find a fit He likes , he could wait until spring or go on his mission. He has the leverage now , could lose some if he decides not to go to college now .
Has anyone found out if Bailey's visit here this summer was official or unofficial ?

Multiple reports on Twitter that Brendan Bailey will do an official at Marquette and this one has him on a mission. Class of 2018?
RT @adamzagoria: Brendan Bailey, son of Thurl, will visit Marquette Saturday-Monday. Will do a 2-year Mormon mission after this season.
Four-star 2016 American Fork (UT) wing Brendan Bailey (@brendanbailey35) will officially visit Marquette this weekend. Via @journalsentinel.

So if you do official visits this year , then go on a mission , can you redo visits in 2017 or 2018 ? do not know what NCAA allows.

He can take visits, sign a letter etc. Then he is likley to leave for his mission as soon as he graduates from high school assuming he will be 18 by then. After coming back two years later he can sign qith anyone he wants, take visits etc, again just like before and he would be immediately eligible at any school. This is the same for any kind of NCAA approved LOA, for a mission or other approved LOA like required military service for Israelis etc. It doesn't happen a lot but it can happen.

So he takes all the visits he can now, then decides if he would be better for him to go to college or on his mission . Would be interesting to see how quick shooting forward/guards have done after they go on a mission compared with guys that go directly from HS to college . I know some of the taller players can benefit as they mature later , do not know about the quick shooters.

Final 5: Gonzaga, SDSU, Utah, Marquette, Michigan. Seems like he will for sure go on mission.

He is down to 5- Gonzaga, Marquette, Michigan, San Diego State and Utah.
"Scout's 36th ranked prospect in 2016, Bailey previously officially visited Connecticut but has since eliminated the Huskies, he said.
Of Bailey's finalists, he's already officially visited Marquette and San Diego State, with Michigan being possible after an in-home visit.
"We're scheduling a visit with Gonzaga for the first or second week of October," Bailey said. "I probably won't take an official to Utah since it's in my backyard and I've seen everything there."

We are in Bailey's Final 5 which is great. Still a lot can happen after a 2 year mission.
