Was he ever going to play significant minutes for UNLV? Nope. But if Wood declares for the draft that wood be 5 players leaving UNLV on a team that lacked depth and experience.

Walker was a 2011 First-Team Parade All-American. The kid is listed at only 5'11", but apparently he can shoot lights out.

they are bringing in at least 4 guys - 2 guys that red shirted last year and 2 top 75 HS recruits . Plus trying to land the 7 ft center Zimmerman from the Vegas area .
All depends on what Vaughn and Wood do . if they stay the team could be a top 25 team . if they leave for NBA ,still have a lot of talent . More then most teams in the MW .

Vaughn signed with an agent, so he is gone. Wood should and will go as he will be a lottery pick. Rice will once again have no bench next year, and UNLV will struggle again. Unfortunately, that might mean that he will be out and the Rebs will actually bring in a guy that can do something with talent.

as of earlier today R.V . has said he has not signed with the agent ,still deciding what he is going to do , believe he has until April 10th or the 15th , to decide about NBA/School, if he has NOT signed with the agent .

unless R.V is 100 % sure he is heading to the NBA is there any reason to sign with an agent now . would guess he may want to at least get evaluation from NBA , before he would sign , he can always change his mind if he does NOT sign with an agent .
If he does come back with Wood they could easily be a top 20 team or better

UNLV should be much better next year even with the loss of Vaughn and Walker, If Woods leaves. They will be back to middle of the pack.
returning Jerome Seagears 6'2 PG is activated = 4-star from Rutgers, better than Cody Doolin Ben Carter 6'8 PF is activated = 3-star transfer from Oregon, will not replace Woods' talent McCaw and Cornish, will take up the scoring from Vaughn. Both are better from beyond the arc. The Freshman bigs Morgan and Okonoboh get better, score more, make less mistakes
add in Derrick Jones 6'6 SF is #22 on the ESPN list, #41 on Rivals, 4-star Jalen Poser 6'4 SG is #83 on Rivals, 4-star
I assume they are trolling for 5th year transfers as well.
They still have lost 16 guys off the roster in the last 4 years, just cogs in the Rebel machine.
All in all, Dave Rice still is an awful coach, how they get guys to visit is beyond me.

I watched the Aztec-St John game in a bar in Vegas and the bartender was a UNLV alum and Rebel season ticket holder and he says their fans HATE Rice with a passion and think they will never do anything with him in charge. Of course, we all knew that anyway.

With Wood and R.V. they could be very good , maybe top ..... team nationally. As you say even without them they will be one on the better teams in the MW . Especially if they land Zimmerman . A lot of moving parts there .

Rinse, repeat Heard that before out of Vegas but usually it's lost rebel fans reminding us of their 1990 run...or congratulating us on signing a recruit that they passed on. Color me unimpressed until they do something with all that talent they sign.

Any other PG will be better than Doolin. Tough year for Doolin. Tough year for Doolin? Sure he's a spaztic mop-head, but he was UNLV's primary ball handler and I thought he more than held his own. I checked his stats: Doolin: 128 assists, 35 turnovers, 6.4 ppg. That's a 3.66 assist-to-turnover ratio, and it ranks third in the nation (only behind Monte Morris and Kevin Pangos, and ahead of Kentucky's Tyler Ulis). www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1/current/individual/473 Not too bad for a guy on a losing team with selfish primadonnas and 7 scholarship players to close out the year. One knock on Doolin is that he isn't much of a scorer, but 6.4 a game isn't bad. A look at the Aztecs' primary ball handlers: AQ: 51 assists, 43 TOs, 10.7 ppg. (Quinn was third team all-conference) Kell: 56 assists, 38 TOs, 5.7. JJ'O: 88 assists, 54 TOs, 10.3. Shep: 66 assists, 88 TOs, 11.1. And other MWC PG/primary ball handlers: Marvelle Harris (1st team all-conference): 120 assists, 85 TOs, 16.4 ppg. Bejarano (2nd team all-conference): 94 assists, 52 TOs, 11.4 ppg. Hugh Greenwood (3rd team all-conference): 101 assists, 58 TOs, 11.6 ppg. Chris Smith (3rd team all-conference): 79 assists, 46 TOs, 12.6 ppg.

Not to be negative, but the stats bring back nightmares of all those turnovers. A bit shocking.
