Jernard Jarreau to OSU. Cowboys. Now at Tulane. And people still think commitments are secure in basketball? Sounding more & more like football every year.
That didn't take him long.

NCAA is looking at ways to limit the number of transfers as the numbers keep going up and up. Believe Rebels just added a JC transfer forward

Over 600 transfers on the 2015 list, and still going. The chairs are going to fill up fast so some of these guys might want to start picking one and sit down, otherwise they will be taking a trip to Cal Poly.

Over 600 transfers on the 2015 list, and still going. Yup. How many of those are senior eligible? 100?
Working the math...
- 351 teams - 12-13 scholarship players per team (typically) - 4563 total D1 players if 13, so probably closer to 4500 scholarship players during 2014-2015 - 600 transfers = 13% transfer, or 1 in every 7-8 players, or 1-2 per team on average
We've had our 1; now we may add our 1-2.

Yea, they're looking into it but what can they do? They really can't change the general transfer rule, so that's not going to change. Doubt they'd force anyone to sit 2 years or lose an extra year, so should remain transfer = sit for a year.
Changing the senior eligible one is an odd one. In theory, kid graduates so he should have the ability to move on to somewhere for "grad school" (if they really went to grad school), so should you not reward someone for graduating on time? I've seen they're thinking of making it a 6th year situation, forcing them to sit a year anyway, and then using that 6th year as their final year of eligibility. That would a) force them to actually GO & do something with grad school as intended (2 years), and b) make the schools trade off using 2 years of scholarship for 1 year of play (w/ no guarantee he even plays that 2nd year). Definitely would discourage senior transfers. So, side with kid or university/continuity?
As much as people get on the NCAA, and rightfully so at times, it's not an easy job. I wouldn't want to make that call. Personally, I don't see anything changing.
PS. I'm doubting if the JC kid to UNLV will even get PT in that line-up? If he has 3 for 2 it might be wise to RS him.

The chairs are going to fill up fast so some of these guys might want to start picking one and sit down, otherwise they will be taking a trip to Cal Poly. I think more & more teams are operating with 12 vs. 13 scholarships these days, and keeping 1 open for even mid-year transfers. Believe half of the P12 & about the same in the MW still have scholarships open. So there will always be places to land IMO, although definitely more limited than a month ago. But then again, most of the better transfers have already committed.

They & Cal have jumped a bunch of places in the preseason poll IMO.

Williams III 6'9 225 PF from Mizzou looking at mid-majors. Zags included, which could further secure Narain and hopefully Cage in our future.

This is going to be a very long off season. One Bill to another, I fear you may be right! Can we keep the few spitballing speculators on just one thread? They could have a field day and the rest of us can read actual useful information elsewhere without those threads being polluted. However, I heard on of the aliens from Space Jam still has eligibility, why hasn't Fish reached out yet? Has his recruiting plateaued?

I was tracking the 3+, 4 and 5 stars who mostly have landed. Now the rest are signing with schools like: Aldephi, Embry, Carson-Newman, Emporia St, Bemjidi St, Northwood, Rodgers St, Shorter, etc....there must be 500+ 2 star guys, looking for homes.
Dont worry those folks won't be on the thread.

So maybe a quick link of those going to schools in the West - or start a new post.
agree feel the guys who graduates deserve the opportunity as they are Student athletes , Believe M. Shrigley could be in that category after the 2015-16 season .

The vast majority of transfers were not guys the Aztecs were looking at , or did not bother to look at the Aztecs . Only the SF grad transfer going from USF to Arizona . Max and hopefully Aaron . Maybe the thought if Williams goes to the Zags, takes them out from continuing to chase Narain for 2015 or 2016 ? but then Williams is also now looking at Kansas .
