First and most important , before we hit the waiver wire . Maybe find out what guys are coming back , to see where we actually need the help . if all the guys come back ,with the 3 ( ZC ) freshman that makes 12 scholarships taken . So if the coaches asked ZC , MP , WS , DA to all come back at forwards plus BJ (5), where is there PT ? Guards you have TK , MS , JH , KZ , DW (5) . If guys say they are leaving then fill the empty spot. but be careful not to overload . Understand competition is great but just be careful
Usually the coaches talk with other coaches at MM to find out about the transfers . the PF you mention is from NY then tried NCS , then back to NE area , now the West ?

Adam Smith, guard from Virginia Tech who averaged 13 points per while shooting 44% from the field and 42% from 3, is transferring. Could end up being the best scorer on the transfer market.

Hmmm, interesting. With the size of Kell & Hemsley (for now, I'll say they're our most likely starters at PG) we could take an under-sized SG like Smith... with Kell/Hemsley guarding opposing SGs and Smith matching up on the opposing PG.

I have no idea of SDSU is even a possibility, but I'm sure the coaches are evaluating him and how he would fit. Who wouldn't want to come to San Diego for a year or two get their graduate degree and play for a top 30 program!

Believe one of the things the coaches do during MM games, is talk to other coaches who coached for or against players who are transferring . Adam Smith is from Georgia then played at UNC/ Wilmington then VA Tech . Sounds as if his goals are playing for a team that can win big next year . Very similar to the guard who transferred from USC to the Zags this year . So do you have him come in here and battle for PT with MS , TK . Fisher will not promise a starting position and does he play D Is he willing to come out West to try it / Davis did but there was a definite vacuum here at PF .

Aren't we all over transferring sophomore Evan Payne (LMU)? Standing only 6'1" (if that) the dude averaged 21.7 and had a game vs. Portland where he scored 14 pts in under a minute.

6'11 275 double, double guy Mike Thorne is a top 5 Senior Transfer.
Thorne told SNY.tv he’s considering Arizona, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Kansas, Pittsburgh and “possibly N.C. State.”

Not sure if we are interested in him or not, the kid can really play. The issue with him is he has to sit out a year, so he won't be the one to fill the void Fish has discussed openly... A scorer who can come in and play right away. Beyond that, if some "unexpected" slots open up immediately due to "NBA draft declares" or transfers, we may end up all over Payne. Should be interesting. The early off season is definitely the "silly season"

You mean the one who played in one of worst conferences in country? Good luck with those stats translating.
