What if? We know who we are talking about. Are you saying he is that man? What about? If he did that enough to make a difference, his offensive rebounding stats would be great - they aren't. It's asininely stupid to compare FG %s of multiple shooters unless they are all being guarded by the same defender, under the same game situations. What about the poor sucker who constantly has to heave the last-second 3/4 court buzzer-beater? His fg% is going to be lower... even though he is never expected to make one of those shots. There is only one single best defender on any given team. Who that man guards... is gonna have a more difficult time making buckets compared to the guy being guarded by the worst defender on the court. Stats, in a vacuum, are WORTHLESS. So we really don't know if Tony Gwynn was a better hitter than Enzo Hernandez We are not talking in a vacuum. We know the player we are talking about and who his teammates are. There will always be different game situations and different defenders. So unless you are saying that looking at stats is always "asininely stupid", your point is not valid.

He passes the eyeball test too, but also had some big nights against good teams: 22 against Boise St, 24 v DePaul, 19 v USC, 23 v Irvine, 15 v Witchta St, 23 vs St Mary's, 24 v Portland an 29 vs Santa Clara. He was + 20 in many other games, and managed to score on a bad team. He struggled vs the Zags. Missed 4 games including BYU and USF.

Per ESPN's Jeff Borzello:
"Loyola Marymount transfer Evan Payne tells ESPN he plans to visit UNLV, LSU and Long Beach State. Averaged 18.0 points last season."

As a regular transfer ,he would have to get a scholarship for the 2015-16 season unless he choose to do an AQ , pay his own way . As of today we may only have 1 to give. Doubt he pays his own way, if he can get a scholarship from another school . He may have hops but not any better then 2015 recruit JH for the Aztecs . also look at the guards Aztecs have for 2016 JH, MK, MS , KZ , DW , plus 2016 recruit K.Smith is a SF/SG, who also has hops and is 6'7" . There are additional recruits that we have looked at for 2016 that would have 4 years not 2 . To me this is not a fit here at SDSU.

Kind of strange. The guy left LMU presumably because he wanted to be in a higher profile P5-type program and instead makes sort of a lateral move.

Well Long Beach plays a pretty heavy duty P5 OOC schedule, if you can be on the team, play them. Here's their high profile games from last season: BYU, Xavier (2x), Kansas St, UCLA, Washington, SDSU, Texas, St. Johns and Louisville. 10 top teams, mostly on the road, play for Long Beach see America and get beat.
