They appear to be friends and JH would naturally put the Aztec bug in his ear. Seems possible, relevant, this is how the top players sometime decide where to play. Kentucky is a good example of this, would agree that this may not be conducive to good mental health.

Believe Lovett was from the SoCal area , then went to play his last year of HS ball in the Midwest so is returning to Socal now that he is done with HS ball to make final decision where he will play in 2015 . Chatter among friends .

All of the smoke around grades, moving, SAT/ACT, and NO official visits suggests, to me, that a year at some prep school for additional academic emphasis is his most likely destination.
And yes, I would like to see him in an Aztec uniform. He would be the greatest Aztec Marcus since Slaughter.

The silence surrounding this guy is deafening. Any visits yet? 4 HS in the last 3 years, 2 in CA, 1 in WA and ended up in IL. He hasn't taken any visits and allegedly hasn't completed the or ACT/SAT test. Great player, great skill, not sure is a good student? IMO, He may have to attend a year of prep school before he can consider an LOI.

He made it into St John's, he could be anywhere next year. 4 High schools in the last 3 years. Good luck in Queens. Lovett is still friendly with Hemsley, balled with him this summer. That would be an explosive back court! Will Lovett be the next DPII?

"NEW YORK — St. John’s freshman point guard Marcus LoVett has not yet been cleared by the NCAA, but the school is hopeful that the dynamic 6-foot floor general will be cleared in time for the season-opener Nov. 13 against Wagner, multiple sources told SNY.tv.
Like Kentucky freshman big man Skal Labissiere and Kansas freshman forward Cheick Diallo, LoVett and fellow freshman forward Kassoum Yakwe are both not yet cleared by the NCAA, although it appears that the 6-7 Yakwe will redshirt this season with the expectation of playing in 2016-17."
Many of the Top 2015 recruits have not been cleared, but I would take Lovett if he bounced back like DPII.

After reading this resurrected thread, all I can say is that we are fortunate that posters are not recruiters.

Yesterday St. Johns lost at home by 32 points to DII St. Thomas Aquinas. Lovett didn't play.
