Just don't have the resources/contacts? Not interested? Or maybe I'm missing some of them we've had?
Because they certainly seem to work out well for Boise, New Mexico, Gonzaga, Utah, etc. et al.
Big men who shoot well. It's not a bad thing.

Not only Australia, but i'd love to see the Aztecs kick the tires on kids overseas in general. Never hurts to look all over for talent. You do have to worry about those kids turning pro and leaving to play overseas at a moments notice though.

There's plenty of reasons, although now the biggest answer would probably be that we don't really need to since we're getting Top 100 recruits in the country

Because we live in California which has more talent than Australia. Why make a 13 hour flight when you can drive two hours north on I5 to recruit. Plus there is only one place to recruit in Australia. Its AIS (Australian Institute of Sports). They are the Oak Hill Academy (East Coast) and Findley Prep (West coast) of the US. Plus international players are a mess with school paperwork and visas. AIS would be the only place I would recruit internationally since they take care of everything for college coaches and atheletes. Its a boarding school where they recruit and train athletes at a young age. They have been in business ever since Luc Longley went to NM.

St .Mary's used to have the primary connection . But now others have been getting involved . key is having the connection, some one from Australia that can evaluate the talent . Although some of the talent from there have decided to stay there until the NBA draft .
Do agree that would not be bad for the Aztecs to try to develop more recruiting with Findlay Prep , Texas , AAU's CIA Bounce ( Canada) besides all the areas of CA .Our bread and butter of recruiting .

I don't really think they fit the Aztecs style of play for the most part. However, I wouldn't mind getting an Australian punter for the football team. Those guys are awesome.

I think if we recruit anyone outside country it should be players that have played at high competition, look at how good domantas sabonis has been for instance. Guys that have played in big international competition (obviously without getting paid) are ahead of the curve to a normal freshman. SMU for instance has a good big in Yanick Moreira, you can see how improved he is from his play with angola.
