I almost forgot this. Nice little incentives to pay early if you're going to renew anyway. And if you are thinking of moving down with your basketball seats, 10 points is a very good thing. (Equivalent to a $1000 donation)

I did this a few days ago. I noticed at my level the seat licensing (called "donation") went up 50% though no mention of it made in any text anywhere. I just noticed it on the invoice. Seems kind of a sneaky way of doing that. I would appreciate a little more honesty up front. Wish they had an installment plan. The Aztec pint glass better be worth it. The 10 points and 1 in a ten-thousand drawing for the roadie isn't much of an incentive, well, unless I win.

They charge my credit card monthly and I think you could have them debit your checking account.

They charge my credit card monthly and I think you could have them debit your checking account. The price for two season tickets on the 50 yard line is still less than $70.00 a month. I'd have to check last year's invoice, but I didn't notice an increase to our donation. I took note that the full amount of the donation is included in the renewal. So unless you go through the Aztec Ticket Office, I don't think you can disaggregate the donation from the price of the tickets - at least if you renew online. MBB has an installment plan; the price is spread over two payments. If you put the tix on your CC, you can make your own installment plan. (of course, you'd be responsible for the interest instead of the Aztecs) Is there a link or anything for this? This is the first I have heard of it. No email or snail mail notice... If you're a season tix holder, you should gotten that e-mail several times over the past few days. I just got another one today at 2PM. The OP is right about the benefits of purchasing two months early. I don't know if the priority points will help us move over a section in Viejas without having to move way up in the section, but it might just be the 10 points that do it for next season.

The points also count for post season priority.

For those who don't like the priority point system, that's how it is at every school. We are fortunate that the points don't reset every year like at some P5 schools.

What you say is how I understand it as well. Rather than renew on line, I just called them. One thing I noticed is that the required donation was added to the ticket price in the ticket office. I donate more than what is required so there must not be any linkage between The Aztec Club and the Ticket Office. The lady that I talked to had to go some place else to find out what I was telling her was true. My seats are at on the 50 in the Plaza about 16 rows up.

The price for two season tickets on the 50 yard line is still less than $70.00 a month. The highest price ticket (not counting luxury boxes) would only be $32 per month. The least expensive, $6.25. That includes the Aztec Club donation, where required.

Apparently my reading comprehension is at an all time low today. Your original post was absolutely correct. I wouldn't have posted if I had read your post correctly.

Reward those who share their generosity with the program(s) with fun perks. My issue all-along has been with the "one time" (<cough> three years ago) opportunity to gain points by buying football tickets and having the bonus (10 points) so out of whack with that that equates to in a financial donation, or years accrued watching single-digit win teams. If you're in the mid-pack of donors you pretty much need to buy football tickets (or make an additional cash donation on top of what you already donate to basketball and other sports) to keep up with the proverbial Jones'. If it was me, I'd rather my product stood on it's own merit (that people would WANT to attend football games because they're fun and/or exciting) as opposed to bribing them to support the team, but I know I'm in the minority, so I'll leave it at that and wait for the insults.

I should've just calculated the price for one seat per month in the first place, but I wasn't thinking about that at the time I posted. Just thought about the $700 bill as a monthly rate for the two tix because someone had mentioned wishing for "an installment plan".

When football drives the train (instead of acting as the caboose) it will be better for all involved.
