Surgery tomorrow. Send some prayers and good thoughts Vern's way. Hope to see him back on the court real soon.

It is pretty much a foregone conclusion cancer is treatable if caught early. I'm living proof of that. Colon cancer is a treatable cancer that has produced some of the most successful results of all the cancers, (again, provided it is caught early). That is why it is imperative people get appropriate checkups that could address any issues when it is still possible. And with the new reality that be the ACA, (pasty, fat, white republication politicians aside), there's no excuse for people not to GET insurance and USE it.
Just because you don't want to know doesn't mean you don't have something that could be treated if caught early.

Not a great pic, but it might help ring a bell. Get well soon, Verne.

May God guide the surgeons hand and you make a full recovery!

Is he the ref that was dancing to kid and play music during a tv timeout last year?

Always sad news when anyone is diagnosed with cancer. Wishing him positive thoughts and a detail oriented doctor.

My sis battled colo/rectal cancer for ten years. It won. Vern is one of the really good refs we get in Viejas. He has worked several final fours. Best wishes for a skiled surgeon and a 100% recovery.
