I hear Hemsley brings the fire and desire. Oldie Out Plus he's a very athletic type guard that can play above the rim. We haven't had many of those, and something we are definitely lacking this season

For 2015 we are going to need to replace JJ at the 4/PF , would guess that could be Cheatham , BJ , Pope , Chol . We also will need to replace AQ , who IMO has been more of a SG/2 this year and less of a PG in directing the team , assists - has become JJ's job . So will really need a PG that can run the team . Also we lose the leadership from those two graduating players - who may step up ? The next year 2016 we lose Spencer and Chol . Pope ? So will need Center / 5 and another 3 or 4 . But will know more later on our needs .

He actually can do the things JJ does inside, including not dunking. He's an inch taller and more athletic too. He'd be a lot quicker and athletic than most 4s compensating for the lack of girth. No way you sit one of our best players his senior season. I say this, because... Pope starts as our 3 next year. His D will go from bad to good. He gets that down with some experience on offense to make better decisions, and this guy might go lottery. He will be the alpha dog for the team next season. Scouts say players show the most dramatic improvement between their freshman and sophomore seasons. This will certainly apply here.

We'll see a sizable increase in our guard play next year from Trey and Zabo, just from being around the system and the culture. Kell can slide back to his natural 2 guard spot, Hemsley can back u D'erryl and Kevin at the 1, and also play some 2, I expect good things from Dakarai....our guards will be fine. It's our big-man game that I'm concerned with, Spencer and Chol gone after next year, Buddah will take some time to develop from what I can tell, gonna be on Cheatham and (hopefully) Pope if he's still around to crash the boards and draw fouls. Collins would be a great pickup for us to go with MJ. You're sure a big Shrigley booster. If Spencer was gone, would anyone notice?

I love the Shrigley of the Air Force and CSU games, but until he's even somewhat consistent, there's a reason he came off the bench earlier in the season. This is his 3rd year in the system, and in my opinion, Kell has been basically equal to him as a true freshman, although scoring in different fashions. I would love for Matt to become a knockdown 3 point shooter that we can rely on, but from what I see it's a stretch, and I still think Trey can be a top level scorer for us. I'm team Shrigley all the way, but I'm team SDSU more. In regards to Spencer, we'll miss his defensive presence, which allows our perimeter defense to be aggressive and take chances. Without him as a rim protector, we can't take nearly as many chances. I do see where you're coming from, though, he leaves a lot to be desired in the box score.

That's what Shrigs is...a streak shooter. We have a total of one loss in games in two seasons with him in the starting lineup so it's not like it's costing us. That game we lost, he went off and so did Pope. CSU just had the best shooting night of their lives. In fact, if Shrigs or Pope got any touches down the stretch, we probably win. Starting him gives Fish a read on how he might play the rest of the game and adjust him minutes accordingly. His D is much improved and he's got a little bit of that Maal attitude. Kell is going to be a scorer for us. Just not this year.

Aztecs of 2015-2016 Hemsley & Kell - Guards Pope & Shepard - Forwards Spencer - Center
We have never recruited a Guard rated as highly as Hemsley. He has the right stuff to be a starter from day one.

I know this is a little late in asking but was Collins the guy dressed in a suit w/ bowtie and joined the periphery of the team huddle during timeouts?

No he was in a black shirt maybe a t shirt Went over to sit in section D or E after the team did their shooting and before they went to the looker room, with Keith Smith 6'7" guard who was in a grey sweatshirt. Believe he is visiting Gonzaga and some PAC schools .

Anybody snag any pics by chance? Haven't seen Keith Smith before, typical looking Aztec player? (long and lean)

D'Erryl/Zabo & Shrigs Dakarai & Buddah Chol --- Once again, we'll have two different squads that could win the league. Also looks like we won't be 13 deep (only ~11), which helps playing time and rotations.
