Dont understand why this team continually comes out flat. Down 17 @ CSU, 16 @ FRESNO, 11 against UNLV, and who knows how many @washington then all of a sudden a wake up call comes and have to fight uphill the whole game. Don't know if this is a leadership problem or motivation problem but do know it takes a lot of energy to come back , seems like every game against quality opponent

I don't know if last night was as much a case of coming out flat as it was a case of CSU just being in the zone from threepointland... It's not as if we were turning the ball over a ton as has happened in most of the bad starts, we just ran into a buzzsaw.

I told my wife that it looked like they could have been blindfolded and shot the ball with their back to to basket over their heads and still made baskets.

I think there was a post that stated that they were down 21 to WA! Y/N?

I don't think we played any defense! CSU in the first ten minutes looked like they were going through their walk-thru before the game. We did absolutely nothing to disrupt their timing, went under screens, no ball pressure. It was so easy for them that they were flipping the ball behind their backs with no regard to our defense. They shot great because no one was in their grill with their hand up.
I will take a wild guess and say their shooting % will not be the same when we play them here.

I missed the worst at the start and want to watch the replay on ESPNU so I can see how much pressure they applied on those 3's.

I do not understand why Pope and Shrigley did not get an opportunity to shoot the ball for the last four (4) minutes of the game? Pope and Shrigley made consecutive field goals to put the Aztecs in a position to win the game, and not to get the ball for four (4) minutes is beyond my comprehension.
Most basketball players, whether on the playground or in an organized game, will "get/feed the ball" to the player with the hot hand! Warriors Klay Thompson had the "hot hand" and his teammates made certain that he got the ball. I just do not get it with Aztecs players not getting the ball to Pope and Shrigley.

Personally, I would have preferred Kell being the PG in that situation. Sure he's a frosh, but he would have deferred and dished to the benefit of the team rather than take the shot himself.

Maybe Pope and Shrigley should have worked harder to free themselves for an open look. Klay Thompson had NBA [minimal] defense during his run.

AQ went into hero mode He's made some big shots this year, but was cold last night and should have been looking to get the ball to either of them

But, when AQ started dribbling too much, it freed both of them.
