Barring a miracle, and we hold out hope for one, it seems unlikely he will be ready to contribute, even if cleared.

IF ALL TESTS ARE DEEMED PASSED. THERE IS NO REASON FOR POLEE not TO PLAY AGAIN.. DR CANOM OF GOOD SAMARITAN hospital quoted in the news article is very knowledgeable. His advocacy and support for those with Polee type issue is highly Recognized as one of the best specialist in the nation. In the past a hospital in Cleveland Ohio was recognized as the best cardiology in the Nstion. TODAY GOOD SAMARITAN, WITH DR CANOM AT THE HELM IS NOW ON EQUAL STATUS..PERHAPS DR CANOM AND good Samaritan should have administered the first ablation Polee had last year.the collapse would not have happened
Polee might not play again at SDSU DUE TO THE HURDLES BEING PLACES TO discourage him from playing. .m stalling til time runs out.,but will pursue and flourish under better coaching.

Polee is done at SDSU. Wish him the best in the future and hope he proves everyone wrong by playing professional basketball. Too much liability for AD and school prez. My only request as a fan would be to let him dress out and start the game on senior night. Then pull him out after one possession.

Unfortunately in today's litigious world, if Polee had another event that had significant morbidity, the liability on the University, doctors et. al would be a disaster. And that's not taking into account the disaster for the Polee family

I also strongly agree with your plan for senior night. Wonderful idea.

Great article, but that's not what I took away from it at all. It would seem Zeigler has reason to believe Polee's condition is something called "supraventricular tachyarrythmia," which are mostly considered to be non-life threatening and went through an outpatient procedure (radio-frequency abalation) last spring following his collapse in practice. Furthermore, Zeigler has reason to believe he went through another, i.e., a fine-tuning, and recently underwent stress tests as part of a normal process of rehabilitation. Lastly, DP2 himself says that the coaching staff has been "feeding [him] positive thoughts," which I read as they have been encouraging DP2 of a possible return to action. Contrary to your conclusion, I finished the aritcle optimistic that we may very well see DP2 back above the rim where he belongs sometime in the next two months.

I, too, hope we see him play again. My reasoning was the Z pointed out that no player, who had that kind of episode, has played for the same team again. Especially public schools have risk teams and lawyers who all must sign off. That takes along time, and I believe those in charge will slow walk the papers till DPII has no more games to play as an Aztec. He would make a huge difference in the MW tourney and the Big Dance. Hope he makes it.

Seems the writers of these articles would have had the sense and courtesy, profesional. investigative type of journalism and to have waited until all the tests were in and the process finalized. Instead they chose to speculate and opinionate sensational and TMX, speculative tabloid journalism.

Unfortunately, DP II's Aztec Basketball playing days are over. I would like to see him dress for senior night, but I doubt he will see a minute and it probably isn't even Coach Fisher's call but the school admins.
I hope he can play again somewhere. It would be nice for him to say he played pro ball, he certainly has the talent.
I wish him the best!

you just CAN'T let him return to the court. His playing days here are over. Aztec for life.

absolutely heart breaking! having him get announced as a starter on senior night is something that must happen. it would be the best gesture that the school and fans can give him... he deserves it.

I was on the far side of the arena and upstairs, but I saw somebody bearing a striking resemblance to DP hoist a couple of 3-pointers as the team left the court after pre-game warm-ups. He shorted the first, but busted the second shot.
This makes him 50% from 3-Point Land and -- even with a bad ticker -- still our best threat from deep!

How do we know that you weren't trying to be funny? We don't of course, so don't assume I was. Everyone wishes DP the best and we all want to see him back on the court some day.
